~~A Week Later~~
For a week I've had to deal with not only the twins and their children, but my own brother was breathing down my neck the whole time. "Anything new recently? New clothes, new books, maybe a new confession?" I looked at him with a raised brow and held back a chuckle.
After the embarrassment that everyone put us through, Alexei and I decided to not tell them about the said "confession."
"Nope, not that I'm aware of." I watched as he deflated with a sigh before wondering off. I sighed and shook my head, it would be so much easier if he just came out and told me what his plan was in the first place. "Look at that, for once you aren't in the library."
I turned to Alexei with a playful glare, but happily hugged him anyway. "Big shocker." I responded as he kissed my forehead. "Well, would you be able to last a few more days away from it?" My eyebrows knit together in confusion while I waited on him to explain.
"We're being asked to have an audience with King William," He began as he rested his chin on my head, "And Mr. Leroy won't leave me alone about seeing you and designing a dress again."
I sighed and pulled away some. "Another ball?" He nodded and let me go.
"Yes, try not to twist your ankle again." I huffed and crossing my arms while turning my back to him. "Yes, well don't use me as bait this time."
I could feel his grimace from behind me as he wrapped me up in a hug from behind. "You know I love you, right?" I sighed and nodded. "And I love you too."
"Finally!" I heard my brother shout from another room, quickly followed by an ow. "I bet Angelica hit him again." He chuckled in agreement before everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE, entered the room.
Vlad was even standing with them.
"What took you so long?" Sofia asked, a grin spreading across her face. "What took what so long?" I asked back innocently with a devious little smirk on my face. Maria glared at me, teasingly, while hugging her husband.
"You know exactly what we mean, Missy!" I giggled and leaned back into Alexei's arms that still rested around my waist. Nicholas gave me a deadpan face before glaring at Alexei. "You broke her. She just giggled... like a sixteen-year-old going on a first date."
I groaned at him with a pout, annoyed by his description. "When do we leave?"
"Tomorrow."
~~The Next Day~~
We stood at the airport the next day, holding hands as Vlad took care of our bags. "We're ready whenever you are Your Highnesses." I blushed at the term, but nodded nonetheless.
We somehow managed to keep everyone else back at the palace, warning them to be gone by the time we got back. "Let's be off then." Alexei said while guiding me into the plane.
Memories flooded back to me as I took a seat next to Alexei, getting comfortable while buckling myself in.
When we were up in the air, he pulled out his reading glasses and a laptop and began to work, while I rested my head on his shoulder and read. "Are you planning to read for an entire eight hour flight?"
I looked up and noticed him studying me, but shook my head. "I'll probably take a nap at some point." He nodded before turning his head back to the computer screen.
After a few more hours of reading I fell asleep, my head still resting on his shoulder.
"Isabelle, you need to wake up, we'll be descending soon." I opened my eyes with a slight glare before sitting up and stretching. "You slept for three hours, my shoulder fell asleep not long after you did."
