Chapter Thirteen:

Cecilia's POV:

"Why so down, darling?" Melody asked me. She was nineteen and she worked with Anne. I sat at the counter while Anne waited tables.

"Just a little under the weather. I just get days where I am not feeling it." I said while twirling my drink. God I wanted a soda, Anne had me on a strict diet and I was dying for a Pepsi or something.

"You look like you want a cookie...or a whole pizza." She said and my stomach growled at the mentioning of that food.

"I can't. Captain over there won't let me." I smirked gesturing to Anne and she laughed.

"Sometimes a pregnant lady needs her food." She smiled. Melody had a baby at sixteen. She had a daughter and her parents helped her out a lot, her daughter was three going on four and she would show me video's of her doing gymnastics.

"She needs good food. No junk." Anne said walking back to the kitchen to put dirty plates away. Melody laughed while opening the register to put money in.

"I don't think a chocolate chip cookie would harm the baby." She chuckled.

Anne sighed and when she came out she had a glass of brown pop with ice cubes and a plate with a large cookie on it. She rested it in front of me and smiled.

"Dig in." She said and I smiled while immediately going for the pop. Anne shook her head and walked on as I happily drank the pop.

I turned smiling at her when me eyes landed on a woman and what seemed to be her son in a booth. The woman had dark brown hair and hazel eyes and the son had hair like mine that was cropped. His eyes were brown and he was drumming his fingers on the table. I watched them intently as I ate my cookie. I suddenly met eyes with the boy and he stared at me oddly.

No way was I going to back down. I kept staring and he did the same. Finally the woman looked over and it was like looking in a mirror. She wasn't too old and she had laugh lines around her eyes and mouth. She stared at me oddly as well and finally Anne touched my shoulder.

"Who are you staring at love?" She asked.

"That lady and her son." I said gesturing to the two in the booth. She followed my gaze and frowned.

"And you're staring at them because they both look like you." She sighed.

"Only an idiot would think that they didn't look like me." I said finishing the cookie and downing my pop.

"D-do you want to speak to them?" She asked.

"Let's do it." I said confidently. I stood up brushing my hands lightly over the small bump that my stomach had. I walked over to them and the boy looked at me as the lady smiled.

"This chick is weird." The son said. He had a black lip ring on his lip and he had on the same Billy Talent shirt that I had.

"I have that shirt." I said and he glanced down.

"So you marched over to tell me that? Cool." He said sarcastically and I narrowed my eyes and placed my hand on the table.

"Only an idiot would think that we all don't look alike. I'm Cecilia Johnson." I said and the woman's eyes widened. Gotcha.

Just then Anne came over.

"Okay, love that is enough." She said softly.

"Anne?" The woman asked.

"Connie? W-we found her..." Anne said tightening her grip lightly on my shoulder.

"That's her isn't it?" I asked Anne.

"It is Cecilia. Connie this is Cecilia, Cecilia this is Connie...your mother." Anne said.
