Cecilia:

I watched as Max drank the night away with a couple of his friends and Stephen got hammered with Stiles. I didn't drink because I knew I would have to drive home and maybe because I think I might be pregnant...

I had sat down on a couch outdoors watching people dance. Caleb was laying his head on my lap and Max's jacket was draped over him.

I ran my fingers through his curls and I saw someone approach. I looked up and Stella sat down next to me and sighed contently.

"What I would give to trade these heels in for my Under Armour flip flops." She said.

"Same, and our lacrosse shorts that coach bought us that one season-"

"The one with the pockets!" She finished and we both laughed.

"So my mom bitched me out this morning." She said.

"Yea she snubbed me down for having a kid with Max." I agreed and she shook her head.

"She said I was making the same mistake she did and that Jackson will just knock me up and leave."

"Jackson would never do that. First, he doesn't have the balls to do that." I said and we both giggled.

"And he loves you too much to do that. What guy is willing to wait all through high school where he had girls draped over him and he didn't pressure you into anything you didn't want to do. He's the sweetest guy ever." I said and she smiled.

"You're the best. I know she's wrong but it's just in the back of my head y'know?"

"You fucking asshole! You have no right being here!" Someone yelled although it came out as a slur. We looked to the floor where Jackson held back Stephen. Stephen was glaring at a man with blond hair and an expensive suit on.

The man sighed and rolled his eyes.

"Steph you're drunk. Shut up." He said.

"Dad?" Stella whispered standing up.

"Stells..." I said hesitantly. People went back to mingling as the man came towards us.

"Stella, my love you look gorgeous." The man said reaching for Stella's hands but she pulled them away.

"Dad what are you doing here? I didn't invite you." She whispered.

"I saw it through social media. I had my people pull some strings. I found out what happened between your mother and that young guy." He said.

"Yes, mom cheated on him and left us like you did. Max has been the best parent out of both of you and we aren't blood related."

"Stella, I-I know...I was too young and scared."

"Too young and scared? Dad you left mom in debt from med school and no home, if it weren't for gran we would have been homeless." She said and the man looked down.

"Stella, I know and I am terribly sorry. I own my own company now and I didn't want to ruin you or Steph's lives because I knew she was married to Max. I know I can't fix it in over five minutes but I hope you and Steph would let me." He said.

"We can try...but please I need some time."

"Of course, Stella." He nodded.

"Steven!" Someone snapped. In came a fuming Katherine as she stared Steven down. Doctor dumbass was following behind her.

"Steven I told you to stay away from them." She said.

"Ah this is your new fling? You would give up your wonderful family for him?" Steven asked.

"Don't say that because you did the same thing!" She said narrowing her eyes.

"Katherine, I didn't come to see you. Not everything is about you. I came to see Stella and Steph. They are adults and can make their own decisions." He said.

"Dad please, just go..." Stella pleaded and he nodded.

"Of course. You look gorgeous, darling. Here." He said laying a white box with a pink bow on the table.

Steven turned and walked away swiftly and Stella came back over to sit down again.

"Stella-" her mom began.

"Mom stop. Please let me talk to my sister." She said referring to me. Stella and I always said we were twins separated at birth.

Her mom nodded and left and I turned to Stella and rested my hand on hers.

"How come your dad seems more level headed than your mom?" I chuckled.

"Ce my mom turned into a lady cougar and she changed. Once she married Max she thought her shit smelt like roses." She laughed.

"You going to talk to him?" I asked her.

"Maybe...not now though. Jackson and I are going to the Bahamas and I want it to be peaceful. Just him and I. Then after I will decide what to do with him." She said nodding her head.

"Do what makes you comfortable. If you don't want to then don't talk to him." I shrugged.

"No I will. My mother made it clear that she wanted to start a new family, and although Max is a good step-dad, he has no ties to Stephen and I anymore."

"Stells he was still there for you for like seven years. He will always be a part of your life."

"I know, but it would be nice to have my legit dad." She said looking at the lights against the dark night sky.

I looked down at a sleeping Caleb and then across at a laughing Max and Stephen.

"I better get home. Caleb has skating lessons tomorrow and I got two drunken idiots to take care of." I laughed and she smiled.

"I got something for you. For helping me with the wedding and being my best friend." She said standing up.

"Stells you didn't have to get me anything." I sighed.

"I did. It's not much but..." she said handing me a small box. I took it from her hands and pulled the blue bow. I took off the lid and smiled lifting up the blue and teal threaded bracelet. Dangling from the bracelet was a little silver star.

"It's so pretty." I smiled taking it out.

"I got a matching pink one. I didn't want you to see it until I gave you yours." She grinned tying it around my wrist.

"We're like totally BFFs now." I teased.

"Totally!" She laughed.
