Loud shouting fills my ears and I groan. Slowly I open my eyes to my bedroom. The group home I live in has plenty, in case other Briney's come. That's what people have nicknamed my species. I jump out of bed and run out the door. Since I sleep in my clothes, I don't really have to change. My feet thud against the wood stairs as I rub down, and when I get to the bottom I fling open the door. People are pouring onto the streets, huddling into a crowd at the main gate. A grin spreads across my face. That can only mean one thing. "New hybrids!" I hear someone shout. I sprint towards the crowd, dodging around other hybrids as I go. I'm tall, but slim, so I can move very quickly. Whenever a new hybrid comes, I'm not that excited, but groups are always good. All the more chance there will be Herobrine hybrids. I bump into a few people, muttering an apology until I get to the front.
Standing at the middle of the mob is a group of seven people. Only four of them are obviously hybrids. The other three most likely have their differences masked. One of them has a black and red checkered hoodie, jeans, red shoes, brown eyes and brown hair. On top of his head are a pair of wolf ears, and a fluffy tail wags behind him. Another is a bacca, wearing a black suit and a red tie, with black dress pants and shoes. He grins at the wolf hybrid, making it obvious they are good friends. One of the other obvious hybrid is a mudkip, also wearing a suit, only it's gray, with a red tie. The last one has a white v-neck t-shirt and gray pants, wearing a pair of purple headphones. He eyes glow purple and a pair of enderdragon wings protrude from his back, along with a tail. I look to the other four and study them carefully. One of them is wearing a spaceman outfit, the helmet completely covering his face. Another wears a pair of glasses with a beard, and dark brown hair, with a black suit with a navy shirt underneath. Then I look to the last.
He has brown hair, tied back in a short ponytail, also wearing glasses. He has a black and gray shirt with dark gray pants with knee-pads and red shoes. Then my mouth drops when I see what's around his neck. A golden amulet, surrounding a large violet gem, a bit darker than mine. Just then I realize a guard is questioning them. "Alright, identify yourselves." He says. The one with the amulet speaks first. "I'm Adam Skyler." He says. The enderdragon hybrid steps forward. "Ty Lox." Next the spaceman guy. "Jason Universe." Then the mudkip. "I'm Quentin Husk." [I'm so bad at names XD] "Ian Ssundee." The other guy with the sunglasses says. "I'm Mitch Benja, this is Jerome Bac." The one with the checkered hoodie says.
"Alright, hybrid type?" He asks. This time it goes in reverse. "Wolf." Mitch says. "Bacca." Jerome replies. "Spider." Ian states, pulling down his sunglasses to reveal small red eyes, quickly pushing them back up. "Mudkip." Quentin says. "Wither." Jason sighs, pulling off his helmet exposing his black wrinkled shin. He quickly shoves it back on. Obviously he doesn't like being the hybrid he is. Ty rolls his eyes. "Enderdragon." Finally the Adam is up. I'm really curious about him. He pauses, biting his lip. "I'm..." he mutters. "Speak up!" someone shouts from the back. A few people laugh, and an embarrassment flushes his cheeks. He sighs. "I'm a Herobrine hybrid." he says, pulling off his glasses.
My mouth drops. He's like me. He looks almost like me. I notice for the first time the tips of his ponytail are white. Just then someone decides to crash into me, and I fall to the ground my glasses falling from my face. They hit the ground and I hear a crack. Panic surges through me. I grab them and put them back on my face, realizing there is a thin crack across one lens. I push myself to my feet and realize Adam is staring at me. Some people follow his gaze and he looks away, putting his glasses back on. "Unless you would like to stay together, you can find other hybrids like yourself for directions to your group home. I would recommend separation, as it may cause some problems." The group glances at each other and nod, as if they had had a discussion only through eye contact. "We'll separate." Ty says. He doesn't look one to be the leader, but apparently he is. "Okay, go find someone and they can explain the rules." The guard says, before pushing his way out of the crowd. Everyone begins to disperse, and I pull off my glasses again, inspecting the damage of the crack. It isn't that bad, just a tiny thing. I can get a blaze hybrid to melt it together for me.
I feel a tap on my shoulder and I turn around. Standing in front of me is Adam. Close up he looks a lot like me, same color hair, same mouth shape. Then his hight is only slightly taller than me. "Hey, I'm assuming your also a Herobrine hybrid." He says with a grin, gesturing to my eyes. I grin. "Yeah. We're the only ones here. I've been alone all this time." He raises his eyebrows. "How long have you been here?" He asks. I shrug. "As long as I can remember. Come on, let's go to the group home." He laughs. "Not really a group if it's just us two." I laugh. "Yeah, whatever." He smiles as we begin to walk. "So what are the rules around here?" I purse my lips. "Well, there's nine to six o'clock curfew, and no one is allowed outside the city walls." I begin. "There are no jobs. The way you earn money is experiments. They give your thirty dollars every experiment, and you must do them or you're kicked out of the city. Also no fights, and you have to pay a ten dollar rent every week. Oh, and for hybrids under sixteen you must go to school, but you don't need to worry 'bout that." I finish.
He whistles. "That is a lot of rules!" He says. I shrug. "Eh, you get used to them. Here we are!" I say. We stand in front of the big white building that is for Herobrine hybrids. "Every hybrid species gets it's own color building, with about two-hundred-fifty total hybrids. There are fourteen different kinds total. Herobrine, spider, wolf, cat, wither, enderdragon, enderman, cow, pig, bacca, mudkip, chicken, squid, and blaze." I say. He nods. "What's the rarity order?" He asks. "From most to least is; pig, cow, chicken, cat, wolf, squid, spider, bacca, mudkip, enderman, enderdragon, blaze, wither, and then us, Herobrine." I list from memory. "How many wither hybrids are there?" He asks. "I think about ten." I reply. "Including Jason." He sighs. "I feel bad for Jason. He hates being a wither hybrid." I shrug. "At least now he has more people like him." I push open the wood door with a squeak and walk inside, holding the door for Adam. "Thanks." He says smiling. "By the way, which two hybrid groups are closest to us on either side?" I squint. "I believe squid and wolf, why?" he groans. "Squids, are the most annoying, stupid, derpy, gross, evil things in Minecraftia. I hate them!"
I give him a questioning look. "Why? They seem so peaceful." He squints. "That's what they want you to think. They have kidnapped Ty!" I raise my eyebrows. "Really?" He nods. "Yes! They aren't trustworthy!" I shrug. "Okay, I'll stay away from them." I walk up the stairs into the living room and flop down on the couch. "You can go look at your room and sh*t." I say, grabbing the TV remote. I hit the on button and an episode of Doctor Who comes on. "Oh great, it's the one where the tenth doctor regenerates." I groan. "This is the saddest episode, ever!" Adam walks back in. "Wanna watch?" I ask. "Yeah, whatever." I train my eyes on the screen, watching as the "Doctor Donna" is formed. "Well okay then."Adam says, sitting down on the couch. I roll my eyes and look back to the screen. 'I'll ask him about the amulet another time.' I think. I have plenty of time.
