My stomach drops.
Adam, please tell me the potion didn't work. I think, directing it to him. He nods.
Don't worry, I'm just acting. He thinks.
Oh god, for a second there you got me. I thought it had worked on you. We have to tell everyone about this.
Yeah. We can tell them through telepathy.
I nod, and we walk inside, heading up the stairs into the living area.
"Well, good night I guess," I say. He nods, and I stumble tiredly to my room were I flop down on the mattress. I wonder what that thing was. Maybe an meteorite, or something else. Who knows. With the strange stuff that goes on around here, anything. And what was that figure that passed by the moon? It seemed like a person, not a mob, so it couldn't be a bat or bird. I sigh and shift over.
I freeze when I see a dark shadow draped across the room. It seems humanoid, the blocky shapes of arms, legs and head apparent. Then it becomes mostly visible for a split second, and I see a flash of glowing white eyes. I sit up and swing my legs over the side of the bed.
"What the f*ck?" I mumble. The figure moves quickly across the room, and I spin my body to face it. "Who the hell are you, and why are you here?" I growl, gritting my teeth. A deep, rumbling laugh fills the room, and I narrow my eyes.
"Oh Valery Skyler, you will find that out soon," a deep voice says, and then the figure disappears in a mist of black pixels. I rub my eyes and blink a few times, making sure I'm not asleep or seeing things. But no, I'm awake, and fully sane (or at least I think I am). I lay back and stare at the ceiling. Something's coming, and I'm not in the least prepared for it.
