I run down a pitch-black hallway, turning down different paths every few minutes. My glasses are gone, yet even the white glow emitted by my eyes cannot penetrate the thick darkness. I can't see my own hands in front of my face. I hear the somehow familiar scream again and I turn another corner, running now at a pace that could outmatch lightning. I notice the darkness fading into a lighter gray and I-if possible-run even faster. The light is now becoming clearer and clearer as I speed towards it, the pressure of the air pulling at my face. Suddenly when the light is almost pure white, I hear a click and a hiss as I trip over a slightly elevated stone object on the ground. A pressure plate. I here an explosion and the ground disappears. A scream escapes my mouth as I tumble into a new bright light, a pale blue. I'm falling from the sky, and I watch the blocks regenerate, quickly repairing the hole I dropped from left by the TNT.
I turn on my side and see the stone street of the City zooming towards me. I brace for impact, shutting my eyes tightly. My tears fly upwards from the pressure of the air. Then I hit the ground. Nothing. No pain, no bruises, no death. Just the sensation of being on solid blocks. I get to my feet and see a crowd around me, fear in their faces. I see Seto, cowering away and Team Crafted watching dumbfounded. Then I see Ty. He's massive, the size of a regular enderdragon, with the purple light pulsing around him as he beats his massive wings. My eyes widen I shock. I back away slowly, but his head turns towards me and his purple eyes glint with rage. There's a red flash of light and I see a fireball flying right towards me. I attempt to dodge it, but I'm too late. The fire hits me straight on in the chest, knocking the wind out of me. I feel the searing sensation of the fire spreading across my body and I scream in agony. The last thing I see before blacking out is Jason running towards me. "Goodbye Jason." I mumble.
---
"Val! Wake up!" I hear someone shouting. I moan and open my eyes groggily. Adam is standing over my bed, a worried and panicked look spread across his face. "What happened?" I groan. He shakes his head. "I don't know! You were screaming in your sleep, and saying stuff about Ty and Jason and fire. I think a one point you said 'Goodbye Jason.' " He says hurriedly. I sigh, swinging my legs over the side of the bed. "Oh. Don't worry about it, it was just a nightmare." I reply sluggishly. He raises his eyebrow, giving me a look. "That was one hell of a nightmare!" I shrug. "Have 'em all
the time. You get used to them." I glance at the alarm clock and notice it's six-thirty. "Thanks for getting me up, we're supposed to be there in thirty minutes." I add."Be where?" He asks. I give him a look. "Oh, to the animal abuse center. The Institute you idiot!" He puckers his lips. "Same difference." I glance around worriedly. "Shhhhh, don't say that! They monitor us and can hear everything we say." He immediately shuts up and I walk out of my room. "I'm getting some breakfast, you coming?" I shout behind me. "Coming!" I hear him call. I speed my way to the kitchen and grab hold of the cabinet knob and flinging it open. I grab a box of Frosted Flakes out and toss it on the counter, proceeding to grab two bowls from the top shelf. I place them at the table and grab some spoons and milk out of the fridge, placing it down cautiously on the counter.
"Adam, hurry up and get your @$$
in here, or I'll hurt you!" I shout. He walks in and sits down, giving me a cautious look. This is what I assume he is like most of the time. I roll my eyes and sit down, grabbing the box and shaking it out into the bowl. "What, no bacon?" He jokes with a laugh. I place down the cereal and get up, walking back to the fridge. A smirk finds its way to my face as I grab a piece of bacon. "Fine take your bacon!" I screech, whirling around and throwing it at his face. It hits his glasses with a slap and he mockingly screams. "My eyes! I'm blind." I double over laughing. "You have glasses on, Mr. Genius!" I point out. He pulls the bacon off his face and shrugs. "Whatever." He takes a bite of the bacon and I give him a disgusted look. "Gross! That's uncooked, you could get sick!" I cry. He laughs. "Bacon's bacon. It's worth getting sick over.""True, true." I say, sitting back down and pouring the milk into the cereal bowl. Quickly, I finish the cereal, before picking it up and bringing it to the sink. "I'll get that later." Adam finishes his and brings it over, placing it next to mine. "Same." He says grinning. "Okay, come on let's go!" I say, sprinting out of the room and down the stairs. Adam follows behind me and almost smashes into me as I pause at the door. I turn to look at him. "Get ready for your first day of experiments."
