Emalyn's POV///
After an uber and a short walk I finally made it to the bakery. I walk in and I'm greeted by a very cheerful Cara with a mouthful of cake. I walk closer to her and grab a bite of her cake.
"This one is defiantly one of my favorites so far!"
She turns around and squeals as she embraces me in a bone crushing hug," I'm glad you finally decided to show up."
"I had an incident I had to deal with." I say nonchalantly as I grab a plate of red velvet cake that was sitting on a nearby table. She does the same and moans in pleasure. I swear this girl and her food. My thoughts were interrupted by a piece of cake that was suddenly shoved in my mouth.
"Ema you have to try thus one it tastes like heaven."
I take a minute and chew the cake and swallow it," I already tried it and it does taste good. What flavor is that?"
"I think it vanilla with caramel filling," She takes another bite," I saw this is the one."
I slap her on the arm," It's not ladylike to talk with your mouth full."
She swallows her cake," When have you ever known me to be ladylike?"
I pick at the cake that was slowly becoming stale on my plate," True."
We soon finish the samples and decide to get the vanilla with caramel filling. I grab my bag and sling it on my shoulder. I walk over to Cara and give her a hug," This was fun but I have to go and you have a fiancé to get too." She mumbles a 'bye' and continues to fill out the order form. I wish life could go back to the way it was in middle school. The boys were all over me and now look at me single, going strong for the past nine years. I guess puberty hit me wrong. Cara was always the pretty one out of our group. I've always been 'that friend' the one you would go to if you wanted her number. I wish I just had someone to cuddle with and take cute selfie's with. Cara's getting married in a few months, Grace and Quincey are still clueless of their feelings toward one another, and Juliet still hasn't gotten over Nate. I can't blame her though, if my first love died I would react the same way she did. I guess I was caught up in thoughts because I run into something hard. I start to lose my footing but a pair of strong arms grab my arms and steady me. I look up to meet some familiar blue eyes.
"We meet again," He says with a laugh," Not that I'm complaining though."
I look away to hide the pink blush that was slowly creeping onto my cheeks.
I'm not complaining either.
"It's good to know the feelings mutual." He smiles.
My eyes widened," I said that out loud?"
He smiled and nodded. His smile is so perfect.
"You think my smile is perfect?"
Crap I said that out loud?
"Yes you did."
I look up at him with a sheepish smile," Sorry I don't usually do that."
"It's ok you look adorable when you unintentionally spill your thoughts."
I feel another blush sweep across my cheeks. I swear this is the most I've blushed in years.
I put a strand of hair that fell from braid behind my ear and look down once more," Thanks."
"Emalyn"
I look up at him," Yeah?"
He nervously rocks on his feet," I was wondering if you would like to go on a date with me?"
"I mean you don't have to- "
I cut him off," I would love to." He smiled and handed me his phone.
I quickly put my number in and put my name as "Ema<3"
I check the time, great I'm late again!
"It was nice seeing you again, but I really have to go." I say as I turn around.
I was about to walk away when I realized I haven't confirmed the date," Text me about the date, I'll be waiting." And with a wink I was gone.
