I found myself face to face with chard human remains. Gasping, I hurriedly got to my feet. Not even knowing where to start, I stepped carefully through the room, over to what I hoped to be a door. Keep it together Sam, find Adam, I thought to myself. I came to the thing I believed was the door, human skin outlined by bones, I knew the cage would be horrid but this exceeded my expectations. I hesitantly touch it and was soon engulfed in light, I shielded my eyes with the back of my hand. When the light faded and I put my hand down, I was in a much more pleasant looking place.
"Level 106." A female voice echoed. The room was dark, the walls looked to be made out of brick. To my surprise it wasn't a room at all, it was a hallyway, with thousands of doors lining the walls. I ran my hands through my hair and began my search, anxiety growing as I knew that Lucifer would be finding me sooner or later. Behind each door was a room more disturbing than the last and some all too familiar. Sweat began to crawl down the sides of my face, the air seemed to thicken. Touching another door, once again I was engulfed in light, I ended up in another hallway, this one more synical than the last.
"Level 666.” the female voices echoed once again.
"Of course there's 666 levels." I muttered to myself, I was about to start going through rooms when I heard a familiar voice call my name. Captivated, I followed the voice, growing confused as the source kept changing and echoing. Frustrated, I picked a door and opened it, once inside, the door behind me slammed shut and vanished. Then suddenly I was in the dark, the voice still echoing my name .
"Not good." I said to myself and then everything went quiet. A bright light flickered on in the center of the square room, blinding me momentarily.
"Sam." A young woman said. Once my eyes adjusted, I could see perfectly clear who was standing in front of me.
"Jess?" A sense of ache filled my chest as Jessica stood before me, beaten and dirty.
"How could you do this to me?" She said, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"You're not supposed to be here." My breathing became uneven and my mind raced. I could feel warm tears welling up in my eyes. I took a step towards her but she took a step back.
"How could you do this to me!" She shouted, shaking in anger.
"You're supposed to be in heaven." I said, shocked, voice breaking.
Suddenly she shoved me, I backed away from her and some how, I was standing in the light now and she was in the darkness.
"I'm dead because of you!" She shrieked.
"Jess, I'm so sorry." Tears streaming down my face now.
"If it wasn't for you I would be alive!" She continued to scream. I put my hands on my head trying to figure this all out.
"You're a murder Sam!"
"Jess, please, don't." I pleaded.
"Why did I have to die and you get to live?"
"You should've lived." I cried, falling to my knees, the tears wouldn't stop.
"You're no better than the Devil himself." She spat.
"I know." I whimpered out as I put my head in my hands.
"I wish I had never met you!"
"I'm sorry."
"Why don't you just kill yourself!"
"You should be in heaven." I whispered. Everything went quiet, her words echoed in my head. Words that had played in my head ever since her death, if only I could have saved her.I don't know how long I sat there crying but a female voice saying "Level 666." Sent shivers up my spine and let me know that I had been in this room to long. Getting to my feet, I immediately starting searching for a door. After what felt like an eternity, I was finally able to find the door, finding in myself in the hallway again, I frantically looked for a clue that could lead me to Adam.
"Found you." Lucifer boomed, making me jump. Giving a quick glance behind me, I took off running seeing him standing there.
"You can't run forever!" He shouted after me. After running for what seemed like hours, I came to a dead end. So I picked the door on the left and hoped for the best.
Once again, the door closed behind me and vanished.
"Didn't anyone ever tell you that you always go right first?" Lucifer said with a chuckle. I gulped looking at the room I had entered, weapons and chains lined the walls, off to the side was a table with straps attached to it, it was some sort of torture room.
Suddenly he grabbed me by the collar of my shirt and slammed me against the wall.
"Here's where the real fun starts." He snarled.Part Nine coming soon.....
