" Being hurt repeatedly can create a monster out of someone. "

Klaus rushed Stefan, knocking him out with a crowbar, before he tossed the crowbar on the ground, looking over at me with a frown.
"Now, what am I going to do about you? Oh, that's right, you're coming with me." Klaus hissed, grabbing my arm so tight that it started to go numb, but since he was already in a bad enough mood, I didn't bother arguing as he dragged me out of the vehicle and flashed us to the High School. He dragged me through the front doors, his grip on my arm not loosening for even a second at any point of time. Then he stood in front of a pair of double doors with me and waited. Suddenly, a laughing Elena burst through the door, making so many emotions run through me, until she turned around and saw Klaus, then all I felt was fear.
"There's my girl." Klaus smirked at her. She gasped, not even realizing I was there before speaking.
"Klaus!" I could see the fear in her eyes as she turned and tried to run, but even she must've known that it was a dumb idea. Klaus was in front of her before she could even blink, blocking her way.
"You are supposed to be dead. What are we going to do about that?" Klaus' smirk didn't falter as he tilted his head. Then he looked at me for a split second, but it was as if he couldn't look at me without being reminded of the betrayal I'd caused him. "Let's go." Klaus demanded, avoiding my gaze as he grabbed Elena's arm and began dragging her through the hallways. I followed not wanting to risk the life of one of my best friends. Elena looked behind her, noticing me for the first time and though neither of us wanted to meet up like this, she smiled softly before looking forward. "You put a rather large kink in my plans, sweetheart. The whole point of breaking the curse and becoming a hybrid was to make more hybrids. I haven't been able to do that. Now my bet is, it has something to do with the fact that you're still breathing." Klaus snapped at Elena, our footsteps and his voice being the only sound that we heard, other than the sound of Elena's frantic breathing and every once and I while I'd let out a small breath.
"If you're going to kill me, just do it!" Elena demanded. Before he could react I was in front of them.
"No!" I demanded, my worry getting the best of me. Klaus glared at me and grabbed my wrist, throwing me behind him.
"You, Destiny, don't get to talk. I'm not going to kill you until I know I'm right. But I do have ways of making you suffer." He explained, pulling Elena into the gym, me following behind them. In the Gym a few students were setting up cups for Senior prank night, but Klaus decided to ruin their fun, putting on an american accent.
"Attention, seniors. You have officially been busted. Prank night is over. Head on home." He demanded. There was a chorus of groans as everyone began to file out of the gym. Suddenly Klaus got a look of recognition on his face.
"You two. I remember you." Klaus pointed out, looking at two students that he'd stopped in front of him.
"I'm sorry. Who are you?" The girl asked. Klaus smirked.
"Oh, don't worry, I wasn't in the right head last time we met." He explained. Meaning, he met her while he was in Alaric's body, just after I'd returned home. Home. The thought was so comforting. Instantly I pictured Stefan, Damon, and I all sitting together in front of the fire, reminiscing about when we were younger. Elena and Caroline and Tyler and all of my friends were there, but so was Klaus, but he wasn't Klaus, he looked like Klaus and sounded like Klaus, but he was smiling and holding my hand like a sweet boyfriend and then I realized, we were all human. Every single one of us was human.
