Little O' House in a Tree Chapter 3

After complaining forever I finally got Jason to tell me what this place is. We are in a mystical world beneath earth. It's called Sullia. All the creatures in it are called Sullens. The evil creatures are called Vendreds. Jason said that the world is split into three sections. The snowy climate, dry and hot climate, and the forest.

I have come to realize it isn't no ordinary forest after the dragon incident. But as stubborn as Jason is, he won't tell me anything else.

Its starts to get dark out but I don't mind. The sky here at night is beyond gorgeous. During the day its like earths sky, page blue. But at night its a rich royal blue and purple with the occasional pale pink and orange cloud. If you look at the stars long enough it looks as if they were falling out of the sky. I don't doubt it at all though.

"It's a full moon? On earth we were only at the quarter moon." I say confused.

"Well this isn't earth." He says calmly, "Like I said it is Sullia, nothing like earth completely different. And its always a full moon. If it weren't werewolves would be extinct."

"Werewolves? Like the big hairy guys or the attractive kind?" I ask.

"Attractive." He says with a chuckle.

"How much longer?"

" We're here."

I circle around but all I see is tall trees, like I've seen since I got here. "I don't see anything."

Jason points a finger upwards. I look up and I see a little cottage, in a tree. "Woah" Is all I could say. It was high up but camouflaged well.

"How do we get up there?" I ask, I don't see a ladder or anything to climb up. He walks to the tree trunk and moves his figures around the bark mystically.

"You trying to cast a spell?" I ask jokingly.

" Yes." He say not even look at me with a serious tone.

After a few seconds of awkward silence, the bark of the tree faintly sparkled. His fingers traced an unusual symbol on the bark. A doorknob popped out of the bark and edged limes formed a rectangular figure. A door. Turning the knob he gestured with his other hand for me to go first.

"Ladies first." He said politely.

"Uh, that's a first. What has gotten into you?" I throw a smile on my face a start up a long spiral wooden staircase.

At the top of the staircase we enter through a trap door into a decent sized room. Lanterns hung high lighting the room dimly. A rickety full size bed lies to the left of the open room. To the right books upon books were stacked neatly on a shelf. Another shelf had bottles and jars with unusual dust, liquids, and herbs. The far wall had a few weapons hanging. A little wooden table was put to the side with an ancient looking chair. Near one of the windows stood an iron chest. But what caught my attention most was a door frame on the wall.

"What's that?" I pointed to the door frame.

He stared at me for awhile but eventually relaxed. "It's a portal."

"Where does it take you?"

"Wherever you want it to take you. But you must have tons of training so you don't end up somewhere you don't want to be."

"Like I am now. I don't want to be here. But I will admit it's beautiful here though."

"You should probably get some rest so we can leave early in the morning."

My stomach let out a really loud growl. I mumble a 'shut up' but of course it's not going to listen.

Jason tossed some sort of blue fruit at me.

"What is this?" I say holding the fruit as if I was investigating it.

"It's a bobby berry."

"A what? It's the size of an apple not a berry!"

"B-o-b-b-y b-e-r-r-y," he says in a slow understanding voice, "No one cares that it's the size of an apple."

"I'm not a child." I whine, "Stop treating me like one."

"You keep saying that, Sunshine."

I let out a huff and dig my teeth into this weird fruit. Sweet tangy flavor burst into my taste buds. My tongue dances in my mouth with joy.

"This is delicious!"

"Yeah, well I'm going to hit the hay so-"

I cut him off, "where are we sleeping?"

"Well I figured you could have the bed and I'd take the floor, unless you wanna share." He wiggles his eyebrows and throws a smirk on his face.

"Oh, heck no! I am not sleeping with you!"

He lets of a laugh, "I just had to see your reaction."

I growl to myself and crawl under the covers. I look over to Jason who's on the floor. My empathy kicks in. Ugh. Curse you empathy.

"Jason, you can sleep in the bed," I pause, "but don't look at me or touch me." I turn to look at him and for once his good is off. He has golden blonde hair with a little brown. It hangs a little bit but not much. Not too short, not too long. Just perfect.

In the blink of an eye he was in the bed next to me. So awkward....

"Thank you my child." he says with a teasing grin.

"I'm not your little child, so shut up and go to sleep." I kick him in the leg just because he deserves it. I turn away from him.

"Why so feisty?"

"You disgust me."

After that I closed my eyes ignoring everything he said and drifted into my sleep.
