"(F/n). (f/n), wake up, wake up." "Huh? Taru?" I quietly groaned. "Come on (y/n), wake up," Taru whispered as he shook me. "What do you want? I was sleeping." I muttered. "I'm hungry and dad is still asleep," he whined with a slightly raised voice. I took in a slow deep breath before stretching and rubbing my eyes. "Alright already," I said clearing my throat, "give me a minute," I propped myself on an arm to look around my room, "Taru, please pass me my phone." I opened my phone to see the time, 6:47 a.m. I sighed and got out of bed. "What do you want to eat?" I questioned groggily, "You know what? You're getting cereal for waking me up." I said walking downstairs.

"Get the milk and cereal out," I ordered Taru as I placed the bowls and spoons on the table. "Aww, the only thing left is corn flakes," he complained. I stared at him, "Well serves you right for eating all the good cereal," I said with an attitude. He giggled and poured the cereal in the bowls as I poured the milk, "We can add in some sugar and bananas," he said a bit perkily. I nodded and got the sugar. I put in a spoonful of sugar in each bowl and Taru cut some bananas before putting them in with the cereal.

"So, this whole week you were too busy to hear what happened at summer camp," Taru began, "can I tell you all about it now?" he asked sleepishly. I nodded while putting a spoonful of cereal in my mouth. "Well when I first got there, I was sent to the center of camp for a meeting. We got to greet people and got into groups of four," he explained, "I didn't really care who I was with 'till I saw my friends from school." I smiled "That's cool. Was it Fumio Kazuo, Genji Nobu, and Masuno Takuya?" I asked. "Yeah... How did you know?" he raised a brow. "Mom was talking on the phone and that conversation had 'camp' and their names in it." I told him, "plus the four of you have known each other since you were babies or in elementary."

Taru took a moment, "True. Anyways, we all got to join clubs, guess what we choose," he smirked. I looked at him for a moment, "Volleyball." "Yeah, and we joined the Dino Club which was also fun," he said with a huge grin. "*Pfft*... *Ahem*... interesting," I said suppressing my laugh at the way he said "Dino Club". He finished his cereal and placed our used dishes in the sink, "Yeah, we learned a lot of things about dinosaurs. The way they eat, how they moved, and stuff. In volleyball, I learned how to do powerful spikes, dive receives, and read block." he said looking a little sad as he sat back down. I was a bit confused, "Isn't that a good thing? Why are you sad?" I asked worried.

He looked away, "I thought you were going to teach me all that..." he muttered. My eyes widened, "Tell you what. Let's make a dessert for a picnic and I'll bring the volleyball I have to the park. Just you and me, deal?" Taru whipped his head towards me and his face lit up, "Can we really!?" I jumped at the volume of his voice, "Shh! Taru dad is asleep." I quickly covered his mouth. Just then, we heard someone walking down the stairs. We slowly turned to see dad yawning, "You guys are loud." Taru and I sweat dropped and nervously chuckled. Dad then came closer to us and patted our heads, "At least you aren't fighting." His action sent a chill up my spine.

"Hey dad," I started, "can Taru and I have a picnic at the park?" Dad looked at us for a moment, "Are you going to bake anything," he asked. I smiled at Taru, "Actually, yeah. I was thinking of making a strawberry shortcake." We all went silent thinking about the dessert. "You guys can go if I get a piece before you guys leave," he gave us a smile. I wasted no time in getting everything set up. I pre-heated the oven, got the mixer ready, put on an apron, and began to bake. I asked Taru to buy meat buns, yakitori, and drinks from the store.

The yakitori Tsukishima had was really good, I wanted some more. As I put the cake to bake (haha, that rhymed), I set a timer and went to my room to change. I put on a red t-shirt and black pants and socks. I rushed back downstairs to check on the cake, "Looks good so far," I muttered. I looked over at the time, 9:30 a.m. When Taru and dad came back, I was cutting the cake to put strawberries in the cake and filled it with strawberry jelly. Taru helped put strawberries on the top of the cake with whipped cream. You can never have too many strawberries.
