They say that if you wish really hard, before blowing out your birthday candles. Your wish will come true at the time when you were born. You will be able to enjoy your wish and feel content.
*Beep beep! Beep beep!*
I shot up from my bed and rushed to my phone. No one must interfere! It's 7:30AM, so no one should be up. I opened my bedroom door and poked my head out. No sign of anyone, and the sun is already out, good. I quietly opened the door to Taru's room and heard snoring from both my brother and cousin. I gently closed the door and went back to my room to change. I put on black denim pants, a white shirt under the blue sweater Tsukki gave me, and I would put on my black and white converse when I get outside. The sweater still smelled like him and that got me all giddy and happy to wear it. What am I doing!? I gotta set up quick before people start waking up! I quickly pulled out the party supplies from my closet and went to the backyard.
I haven't seen the backyard in a while because of my injury, but it's just how I remember it. A wide open area with soft green grass, the volleyball net in the far back of the backyard, a little patio with a roof that was connected to the house, and the shed that we had our sports equipment and other things. I set the bag of party supplies down on a lounge chair under the patio roof and headed to the shed. I stepped in and looked around for the foldable tables. They were under a tarp next to the sports equipment and I pulled two out. I wiped them down and set two under the patio -- one for gifts, and the other for people to eat on. I put the blue table cloths on both tables and put the green streamers spiraling down the patio posts. I took the balloons and filled them with helium before tying them to the chairs and both sides of the gift table. I also hung some balloons in the kitchen and living room. I went back to the bag to find two banners that said "Happy Birthday Taru!" on them. I hung one in the kitchen doorway and the other behind the gift table.
I pulled out my phone to check the time, 8:56AM. I ran into the house and kicked off my shoes before rushing up the stairs as quietly as possible to see if anyone was awake. I put my ear to Taru's door and heard talking, "*Knock Knock* Taru? Morisuke," I whispered. The talking continued and I heard shuffling coming towards the door before it opened, "Hey, good morning Itoko." I smiled, "Morning," Morisuke was wearing blue denim pants, a black long-sleeve shirt, and a red short-sleeve flannel, "Are you guys ready," I asked. "Yeah, I wore my batman shirt and gray denim pants," Taru smiled (Everyone wears denim ok). Mom and dad came out of their room dressed and ready for the party, "Ready for a birthday breakfast?" "Yeah," Taru yelled as he ran downstairs. We all followed him and dad was taking a video of Taru's reaction, "Uwaaa... Nee-chan. You did a great job!" I laughed and hugged him, "Happy birthday Taru."
Mom and dad made pancakes and put ice cream with whipped cream on Taru's pancakes. Morisuke and I eyed Taru's delectable breakfast as we waited for our food, "Umm... Guys, your food is right in front of you." We looked at the plates in front of us and thanked mom and dad before eating. We washed our dishes when we were done and dad began to cook barbecue with mom to serve at the party. *Ding Dong* Taru rushed to the door, "Obāsan (Aunty)!" "Hey kiddo, happy birthday! This is for you and I hope you like it." Our aunt that lived on the other side of town was dad's younger sister.
Taru took both of his presents and put them on the gift table, "Hey itoko. Nee-chan! Let's play while we wait for people to arrive." I walked into the living room to find him turning on the game console, "Super Smash Bros?" Morisuke ran to the couch, "I got dibs on Charizard!" We played five rounds before the doorbell rang, "I got it," Taru yelled. It was Tsukishima and Yamaguchi, "Hey! We thought it would be better to get here earlier than the captain, vice-captain, and coach," Yamaguchi explained, "Tsukishima-san! Yamaguchi-san!" They both gave Taru a gift and he thanked them before putting them on the gift table in the backyard. I stood up from the couch, "No one would be here, it's 10:05," I giggled. Morisuke stood up and stood next to me, "I remember you guys from the Battle at the Garbage Dump," he paused, "I'm Yaku Morisuke. I'm a relative on (f/n)'s mom's side," he quickly bowed. The two taller males bowed and introduced themselves before I invited them to sit on the couch and play. Tsukishima smirked at me, "Wearing my sweater?" I blushed and ran to the couch to play.
