4 to 6- jake riley

I walked through the double doors and into a hallway where a police officer and a doctor were standing.

"Excuse me, miss? This is a private ward, you can't be here." The British doctor spoke and I walked up to the two.

"Sorry, I'm looking for two of my students, they went looking for the rats-" I paused as a deathly looking man coughed.

"in the research labs." I finished continuing to stare at the sick man.

The officer, attractive I might add, looked from the sick man, to me, then to the doctor.

"I'll help her." He said.

"Officer 4 to 6 feet, both of you." The doctor warned and I nodded.

"Gloves and masks, please." He stated and I nodded once more, the officer and I began to walk down the hall before he hit his fist on the supply dispenser.

I grabbed a pair of gloves and I mask, putting them both on.

"Not a good time to let your students go wandering off." He sassed and put on his helmet, lowering his visor.

I stared at him in disbelief as he continued to walk down the hallway, who does he think he is?

We kept walking until we got to a dark corridor, I was beyond confused.

"W-where the hell are we?" I asked.

No response.

"That guy back there, is it bad?" I questioned, concerned.

No response.

"I've got 14 kids here, I feel like I should know if it's bad." I cried out in frustration, getting closer, threateningly.

"Hey, hey, 4 to 6 feet miss." He said and I rolled my eyes, out of all my questions that's what he says?

"And- and my students, I didn't let them just run off, they were intrigued by the rats, I was talking to parents." I said, still irritated for his accusations earlier.

Just then a doctor walked out of the private area.

"Excuse me, we need to get in there." I said, grabbing his attention.

"It's restricted." He fought back.

"Uh, were looking for a couple young kids, they were heading for the research labs." The officer said, looking towards me, unamused.

"Can we just take a quick look?" I asked urgently.

"I can't let you in there." The doctor said once more.

"Please, I just need to look." I stared, taking a step towards him.

"Hey, 4 to 6 feet." He said taking a step back.

"The officer and I were just in the same hallway with an infected man, better not get too close." I said taking off my mask, taking another step towards the doctor.

"Hey, hey, you're a cop man." The doctor complained.

"What'd you want me to do shoot her?" He asked irritated at the doctor.

"Here." The Doctor said taking off his badge and tossing it into my hands, "I ain't dying for this job." He finished and walked away, leaving me stunned.

I scanned the code on the card, the pass key working and the doors clicked, unlocked.

"You're a piece of work." The officer stated and I rolled my eyes.

"4 to 6 feet please." I sassed him back from earlier, putting the mask back over my mouth and nose.

We walked into the darkened hallway and stood in front of a door, revealing two lifeless bodies, the a person in a hazmat suit walked into view, scaring me.

I jumped back and bumped into the officer.

"Woah." I cried out and we looked at each other, he pushed his arms out, separating us once more.

"Here, go, go." He said as he followed me quickly down the hallway before the person in the room noticed.

"Wow that's cool." I heard the children in the room.

"What did I tell you two about sticking close?" I barged into the room, scaring both of the kids.

"I'm sorry for any trouble." I said to the worker.

"No troubles, c'mon let's get you two out of here." The worker said and walked passed me and the officer, I rolled my eyes.

"Scary mask." One of my students said before walking away, I pulled it down.

"Don't ever become a teacher, and if you ever do, sorry." I said and he smiled.

"You seem a little young to be a teacher." He said and I shook my head.

"I never thought I'd be working with kids for my hobby, but life is full of surprises right?" I asked and he agreed.

"I'm y/n." I said holding out my hand.

"Jake." He said about to grip my hand before we remembered, I pulled my hand away.

"Right." He whispered and I laughed.

"What are you two doing down here?" A doctor came in, I tried to explain.

"My students-" I was cut off by him sneezing, I gasped and quickly put my mask on again.

"Woah, woah, back up, back up." Jake said putting his hand near my chest, slowly pushing me behind him.

"Y/N, go get a doctor." Jake said and I nodded quickly leaving the dark corridors.

"Dammit!" I hear Jake yell as I walked out of the doors, great way to end a moment.

Once I got back from getting the doctor, I walked into the darkened corridor once again.

"Screw you Lex!" I heard Jake yell into his phone.

He hung up and put his phone into his pocket, I stared at him, he did the same to me, before turning around and knocking a hazardous waste bucket off the wall and leaving the room.

I jumped back at the sudden action, I'm not getting out of here, am I?
