"Ok, follow my lead, they should be able to seal this door off pretty quick." Jake said and I followed him up the stairs, gun in hand ready for any threats.

"Y-yeah, hey I got you covered." I said and he turned around and nodded at me, stopping.

I lifted my hand to motion for him to keep going, the hand with my gun.

He raised his hands towards me.

"Hey woah, woah, just try not to shoot yourself, or me." He mumbled.

"Yeah, uh sorry wasn't thinking." I said embarrassed.

"Alright here we are." Jake said as we reached the door, he bent down to put his helmet on the floor before the door swung open, a tweaker trying to attack him.

"Jake!" I screamed in fear as he dodged the sharp wooden stick.

I pointed my pistol at the attacker, I tried to pull the trigger but it was stuck.

He had managed to pull the stick from the man's hands and throw him down the stairs, Jake slipping and falling onto his leg, he groaned.

"Jake!" I yelled and he looked up in time, stabbing the man with the sharp end of the stick.

I smiled knowing he was fine.

Then another man came out the door, wielding an axe, holding the wooden part to my throat.

I quickly pushed myself back, causing my attacker to slam into the wall, dropping his axe, I raised both of my elbows and quickly threw them into him, delivering two painful blows to his chest.

I turned around and quickly spun him, kicking him into the opposite wall, he looked up and advanced towards me, but not until 3 gunshots rang through the air, the man falling to the ground.

Jake ran up the stairs to me, putting his gun down and into his holster once he got to me.

I was a little stunned by how I was able to throw that guy off me, I didn't realize how bad I was shaking until Jake grabbing my trembling hands.

"y/n? Are you ok?" He asked and looked me in the eyes, his dark blue one piercing mine.

"Ye-yeah, I think so, Jake my gun, i-it got stuck." I said and started to cry at the thought of me feeling useless trying to help him.

"I know, I saw." He said and pulled me into a tight hug.

"four t-" I said before he interrupted me.

"To hell with four to six feet, I'm never leaving your side." He said, I laughed and nodded.

"You should really clean your gun." He said before we continued on our mission.

"Yeah, I know." I sighed before following him.
