"Kai?" I asked as he was finishing up dinner.

"How about we watch a horror movie?" I ask again and he looked at me through the opening of the kitchen.

"Perfect idea, you pick the movie and I'll bring out our dinner." He said and I nodded, scrolling through Netflix.

"There's this one." I said, clicking on the movie, The Vanishing On 7th Street.

I played the movie just as Kai brought out the bowls of spaghetti and garlic bread, he placed mine in front of me, while he got comfortable on the couch next to me.

"Thank you baby." I said and kissed him before we both started to eat our delicious food, he's always impressed me with his culinary skills.

Once we both were done with our food we were about 20 minutes into the movie, it began to get weird and creepy, wasn't particularly scary, just sketchy.

They were figuring out they needed to stay in the light to survive, every time the lights would flicker or night time would approach, figures would appear in the dark.

"Hey, I'm going to go put these in the dishwasher." Kai said but I waved him off, I started to imagine if this movie could ever be real.

Suddenly all the power went out.

"Oh my god!" I cried in fear.

it's happening!

"Kai?" I cried aloud, oh sweet lord, the darkness got him.

Soon I began hearing whispers.

"y/n." They chanted from the corner of the room, continuously, all I could hear was my name being called.

I covered my ears with my hands and slumped down onto the floor, putting my head in my knees and squeezed my eyes shut.

"Its not real, it's not real." I repeated in my head, but it took Kai, he's gone.

Tears began to pool in my eyes, dripping down my face and dropping onto the wooden tile.

Suddenly the lights switched on and I looked up from my lap, hands still over my ears to see Kai in the entry of the room, hand over the power switch, hysterically laughing.

I stood up, tears still running down my face, I walked to my bedroom and slammed the door, locking it after.

"y/n?" Kai knocked on the door.

"it was just a joke, I didn't know you were going to get so upset." He said and I shook my head, not that he could see.

"Kai leave me alone." I said and threw a pillow at the door, hoping to prove that I didn't want to be bothered at the moment.

"Vodux." Kai said and the door swung open, the lock breaking instantly.

I rolled my eyes and groaned as Kai came closer to the bed and sat next to me.

"You broke the door." I said and he chuckled.

"I'm aware." He said and looked at my flushed face.

"You scared me to death." I said and his face softened.

"I know and I'm really sorry, I can tell I was way out of line." He said and I grinned a little.

"Totally out of line." I chuckled and he bumped his shoulder with mine.

"Lay down with me." He said and I did, he wrapped his arms around me, protectively.

I put my head on his chest and smelled his scent, he was wearing my favorite cologne of his.

"I love you y/n, I'm really sorry for scaring you." Kai mumbled sleepily.

"I love you too Kai and I forgive you." I said realizing how exhausted I was.

I lifted my head and kissed his jaw before laying my head back down and closing my eyes

Falling into a deep sleep.
