I know it's been ages since I updated this and I'm sorry about that, it's just that this story isn't my first priority so I've mainly been concentrating on some of my other fanfics and an original story that I'm working on.

Eragon's point of view

That morning Eragon was just preparing for the day ahead when someone knocked on the door to his room. He opened it and he saw that it had been Orik.

Orik said, "Eragon you are needed right away,"

 "What has happened?" Eragon asked.

"Someone new has arrived wanting to join us; she used the same opening phrase as you did when you arrived,"

Eragon stopped midstride as he understood what Orik meant, surprised, he said, "what! You are saying that she is a rider!"

Orik replied, "Yes she is, I believe her dragon is still quite young. I would guess it is old enough for her to ride but only just. Nasuada wants you to be the one who searches the girl's mind to see if she is trustworthy,"

Eragon felt slightly nervous about his task, it wasn't because he couldn't do it, he was nervous about the fact that he had to pry into the girl's secrets. Any other time he had entered someone's mind it was usually someone who knew and trusted him, not a complete stranger. Sure he had entered Arya's mind to find out what was wrong with her, and he had tried to enter Murtagh's mind but those times were different.

He contacted Saphira; he missed her since that night had been the first time they had slept apart since he had been captured at Gil'ead. Once Eragon told her about Orik's news she said, "Don't worry about it, you just have to go into her mind long enough to determine if she is trustworthy."

Eragon decided that Saphira was right as usual. he shouldn't have to be in the girl's mind long and he would try to be a lot gentler than the twins were with him. Interrupting Eragon's thoughts Orik said, "Eragon there is one more thing that you should know about her,"

 "What?" Eragon asked.

Orik answered, "She says that she is the daughter of Galbatorix."

Eragon was shocked once again but he continued walking through Farthen Dûr with Orik toward the doors that Eragon had entered through only a few days before.

Eragon couldn't help but think that the dwarves and many of the Varden hadn't really trusted Murtagh, this girl would most likely have an even harder time proving herself. Well if he found nothing suspicious in her mind anyway. first, though she would have to prove that she wasn't secretly a spy or an assassin.

After that, like him, she might need further training. Eragon knew that she probably already had some knowledge of magic, some of it probably the darker side of magic but he obviously had no idea how much she knew, for all he knew Galbatorix may have been training her for years, or he might have started only recently.
