Cassidy's POV
I heard Hunter mumble something to himself that sounded like, "I'm not diggin this floor right now."
"Hey Hunter, do you just wanna come lay on the couch with me? It's probably more comfortable than the floor." I said.
"Cassidy, the couch is to small for two people." Hunter said.
"No way, there's room for like 10 people on this couch!" I exclaimed.
"Ten people. Yep. Ok."
"Hunter, you know what I mean. Just stop being stubborn and get up here." I said.
"Fine." he said, giving up. "I forgot how comfortable this couch is."
"Hey Hunter, can I ask you a question?" I asked.
"Shoot."
"Promise me you won't treat me with pity because of what happened."
"Cassidy, I promise."
"Thanks." I said, before drifting off to sleep.
I woke up to the sound of my phone going off. "Hello?" I asked.
"Hey Cass-Cass!" Julie yelled.
I winced at the yelling. "Why are you calling me so early? Especially on a Saturday?!"
"Because, I couldn't sleep anymore."
"You!? Sleep longer?! You sleep until 2 in the afternoon. And that's when I have to wake you up!"
"Shut up. I know it's a shocker."
"Well why did you call me?"
"It's Bethany. She got really sick last night, fever, puking, the whole nine yards. Her parent took her in this morning... Cassidy, Bethany has leukemia."
Nothing. I couldn't speak. I couldn't move. I felt nothing. I couldn't process what had just been said. I could only process three words. Bethany. Sick. Leukemia. I finally processed those three words and said, "Where is she?"
"They kept her at the hospital. They have to start chemotherapy today. They don't want it to spread."
"I'm going up there. What room?" I asked, holding back tears.
"Room 421. How are you going to get up there?" she asked, clearly crying.
"I have my way. Meet me up there?"
"Yeah, I'll be up in 30."
"Ok, bye."
"Bye Cassidy."
I shut my phone off, processing what was just said between me and Julie. Bethany has leukemia. She is already in chemo. It spreads, I don't know how fast, but it spreads. I have to get up there. "Hunter, Hunter, get up. It's and emergency!"
"What? What? What's the matter?" Hunter asked.
"It's Bethany. She's in the hospital. She- she has leukemia." I said, letting the tears fall.
"Come on, we have to go, my parents will drive us. I'll go get the guys. Go get dressed."
"You ready?" Hunter asked. Devo, and Sam both nodded.
"Yeah, let's go." I said.
The whole ride to the hospital, I was a nervous wreck. I've never liked hospitals. "Cassidy were here." Sam said, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Ok, thanks." I said, getting out of the car.
"Bethany!" I screamed, wheeling into her room.
"Cassidy? How did you know I was up here?" Bethany asked.
