Jessica's POV

*One month later*

"Where do you think they took them?" I asked.

"I don't even know who they are," Leo said frustrated with everything. He kicked a rock and sent it down the sidewalk as we walked home alone. I sighed, "Are we ever going to get a break?"

20 minutes earlier

We were back in high school, not even a week after the war, but now everything was quiet. Too quiet. It was Study Hall for the six of us and we decided to sit in the library, and try to do our homework.

"No Seaweed Brain, 17 squared plus 18 squared equals the square root of x, and that is your answer," Annabeth said.

"Okay," Percy sighed trying again. "Did I get it?" he asks excitedly.

Annabeth checks and shakes her head. "No not-"

"I think we need a bre-" Piper was cut off from the rest of her sentence by the library door slamming open. I turned around to see the librarian shushing Sam. He glared at her and his eyes flickered black.

"Did you see his eyes?" I whispered to Percy.

"What?"

"Never mind." I must have imagines it.

Sam strutted, much like a girl, over to our table and stood at the end.

"Follow me now! I'm not in the mood to cause a scene," he said promptly before Turing around. "Now!" he yelled.

I rolled my eyes, but moved to leave. "What's the worse that could happen?" I asked when Leo tried to stop me. "We are demigods!"

Annabeth surprisingly agreed with me. Sam was waiting outside the library doors and when the door shut after everyone was out, he walked us to the courtyard behind the school.

"Okay, now what do you want?" Jason asked somewhat annoyed.

"You," Sam growled. His eyes turned into that same dark color as before his you he slithered out and was in the form of a two pronged form. Black wings ripped through his shirt, and his mouth grew fangs. Dark colored veins slowly rises from his face and the end look was frightening.

Immediately, the six of us pulled out our weapons we carry everywhere. Piper and Annabeth grabbed their daggers. Percy and Jason pulled out their pen and coin. Leo reached into his new backpack and grabbed a hammer and sword.

Leo had kindly asked his father if he could make Leo a backpack like his tool belt. He said it'd make more sense to have at school.

Leo tossed me my sword, and we charged into battle.

Sam whistled, and it pierced through the air. It was so loud I had to cover my ears.

"Oh my gods," Annabeth groaned. Seconds later a flock of demon birds surround us.

"Get the four," Sam ordered. "Master wants those two to come willingly."

The birds rushed at Annabeth, Percy, Piper, and Jason and surrounded them like a thick cloud. I could hears shouts and I ran closer to the flock, but was yanked back by Leo.

"What are you doing? we have to help them," I said struggling.

"You can't," Leo said keeping a grip on me. "You'll die." I twisted and turned trying to escape.
