*Apocalypse Now* (Criss Angel & Klayton Scott Story)

*15*(Criss's P.O.V.)

The scavenging group has now been gone for 5 days and I was beginning to worry a little bit...thinking a rebel group or something bad happened to them...I was walking in the wooded area behind the warehouse, where Sully used to keep his camp before he joined up with us...and I rescued a cat from the stream...he was weak and very malnutritioned...but I fell in love with the little guy right when I picked him up...I took him back to the warehouse and cleaned him up and fed him up real good...a few weeks later he was a whole new cat...I decided to name him Hammie, after the cat I lost from cancer...for he looked very much like him, and his personality matched his name...

Kiefer and Johnny liked him ok...but he was not Houdini...so Hammie was more of my pet, than a family pet...I was laying on the bed with Hammie on my chest sleeping peacefully, when Johnny came running in telling me that the hunting group made it back, with a whole cart full of stuff!! I jumped up and sat Hammie down and raced my son out the doors and into the yard along with Mickey, Kc, and some of the other girls...Sully was in the lead carrying a baby...with Rachel hanging on his arm cooing at it.

Billy was walking along side the cart full of food and supplies...we all got together and unloaded everything, then asked where the baby came from...Rachel was now holding her and said Sully jumped in the river and saved her...and Sully wanted to give her to one of the family's that had kids already...but Rachel said she fell in love with her and begged Sully if they could keep her...and beens Sully loved Rachel so much, he couldn't say no...so now he was an official daddy. Rachel walked up to Kc and asked her what she thinks she should name her...Kc and Rachel thought for a good while then came up with the name Serena.

Meanwhile...back in Klayton's group...they were all still heading toward the warehouse but were still a good 2 weeks away...Klayton successfully healed Dimitra's eyes, and she said he was her miracle worker...Costa's arm was now as good as new, with Klayton's help...and JD was up and walking alongside the wagon...Aphelion was sitting in the wagon for she sprained her ankle. King was panting heavily in the heat and walking in the rear of the wagon...They were all having a silly conversation just to pass the time...when King began to act suspiciously...Klayton told everyone to stay close to the wagon, that they were being followed...and by the way, King was acting...it wasn't good company.

Klayton, Costa, and JD moved in closer to the wagon and got their weapons out...Aphelion grabbed her staff and stayed close to Dimitra...she couldn't walk very good, but she could still protect Dimitra in the wagon...Klayton gave King his whistle to be alert...a group of six came riding out from both sides and began to circle around the wagon...they had a pack of 5 dogs that were instigating King, but King was waiting for Klayton's signal...one of the riders came up and asked who the leader of the tiny caravan was...Klayton moved forward and said he was...the rider asked for some food...Klayton told the rider to call his dogs off, and his men to the front, instead of surrounding them like rebels, and he would be more than happy to give them some food...the rider called off the dogs...but once he did, the other riders pulled out crossbows and added that they wanted everything else including the wagon and the horse.

Klayton looked up at Aphelion and gave her his eye signal for attack...then he whistled twice to King...he immediately jumped at the horses and spooked them, which made the riders loose their grip on their bows, and some of the horses bucked their riders off, and ran. King rounded the fallen riders up in a circle and kept them there...Aphelion took her staff and knocked the rider out that was rummaging through the wagon...Costa was keeping busy fighting off the dogs that all seemed to want a piece of him...JD jumped in and helped his brother...and Klayton took on the leader and his sidekick...one of the riders jumped in the wagon and pulled out a long knife out of his sheath, and went right for Dimitra...Aphelion was fighting off another rebel, when she heard Dimitra scream...she turned around and jumped in front of Dimitra to protect her, and killed the rebel...but the rebel's knife got her right in the chest...she fell down and Dimitra caught her and tried to stop the bleeding, as soon as the fighting was over, and the riders were dead...Costa and JD caught the horses and said it beat walking...King chased the dogs off then laid down under the wagon to clean his minor wounds he had.

Dimitra hollered for Klayton...he jumped up in the wagon and gently carried Aphelion out of the wagon...and began stitching her up, but she just stopped him and signed to him, that it was too late for that...she was dying...Klayton held her closely and told her that he wouldn't leave her...she just reached up and touched his face, and told him with her eyes, that he gave her a life, and taught her so much, and gave her the one thing she never had, but always wanted...someone to love her, and someone for her to love...then she looked at Dimitra and said it was worth it saving her from the rebels...and if she had the chance to do it again...she would do the same thing all over again.

Dimitra began to cry, Costa and JD consoled her, and said that Aphelion did what she wanted...she protected her family...Klayton held onto to her tightly, and as she drew her last breath, she actually got to speak out a few words...which were...she loved her family. Then she was gone...Klayton slowly removed her necklace from her neck and placed it around his...and for the first time since the devastation of the world...Klayton cried. JD and Costa dug a grave for her and buried her, and Dimitra put wildflowers on her grave, and Klayton carved a beautiful headstone out of wood, and then carved her name in it...My Sweet Aphelion, loving daughter and brave family protector...gone but never forgotten.

Klayton then unharnessed Aphelions Appaloosa, and put one of the rebels horses in his place...his daughter's horse was now his ride...Costa and JD mounted on the other two horses and followed behind the wagon... King was now in the wagon with Dimitra... Klayton was pulling the horse's reins that was attached to the wagon...that way Dimitra wouldn't have to. Klayton remained silent...during the rest of the way to the warehouse...for he knew from the stream that in a couple days they would be close enough to the warehouse to see it.
