Criss and I checked the entire perimeter out and noticed the horses survived the attack...along with the wagon I brought Dimitra and the supplies in on...I told Criss that we were going to need it...for when the building was destroyed...all the supplies and food was also destroyed...we caught up the horses and lead them back to the group...

Kc came up to me and told me to come to the back of the building...I followed her, and she showed me where King was...I knelt down next to my dear friend, and rubbed his thick mane, that was covered in blood...I noticed something moving under him...I moved him and saw Serena, Amber, Christine, and Adam curled up hiding under him...he died protecting his kids...I pulled them out one by one and Kc checked them over real good before taking them to the group. When she got back, she saw me skinning him...she asked me in shock what I was doing...but I told her he wouldn't mind...he saved me in life, and now he was going to keep his kids warm...feed us as well...still taking care of us even after death.

Kc sat down next to me, knowing that inside I was crying during the whole process, but starving wasn't an option...and all the food was gone...I handed Kc the fur and she held it close to her, and took it to the wagon and spread it out on the wagon's floor. Then Dimitra hopped in the wagon and helped get all the kids in with her. Siera and Abby jumped in next...Billy helped Danielle in the wagon after she was in securely...the wagon was full...Criss hitched up the largest horse out of the five we had to the wagon...then saddled the other four. Mickey walked in front holding onto the long reins from the horse that pulled the wagon. JD and Costa walked alongside him for the company...Billy and Leland walked in the back of the wagon close to their wives. Rachel and Sully rode double on the buckskin...Sandy and Criss rode double on the black and white paint...Ronnie rode alone on the bay...and Kc and I rode double on Cochise.

Criss rode alongside me and was trying to discuss on which way we should travel in...and if we were just going to make the next secure building we find our new home...I told him if we did run into a secure place to stay in...we'd hold there...even if it wasn't permanent...for we did need a place to get out of the cold...then after we settle them in it...us guys would have to go on a supply run, to find anything we could for warmth and food...for King's meat wouldn't last us very long...and his warm hide was only big enough for the kids to stay semi-warm with.

Mickey gave his opinion and said we should go further south...beens we all had come from the west...and I had been all the way to where New York used to be...then it dawned on me...there was a pretty good sized group of people in New York, where I picked up Dimitra and Criss's brothers...and just maybe they were still there...so that we could join up with them. I asked JD and Costa what they thought about my idea...they were all for it...beens they said they were a very good group of people that did help them...plus they had food and a steady supply of water...and before we had left them, they were trying to build a secure building for them to stay in.

Mickey did remind us all that it was also a very long journey there too...and we had kids to think about...and no traveling supplies...or weapons anymore for any rebels that might show up...that we were defenseless...I turned Cochise around and said not defenseless...for we still had our hands, feet, and our brains...and plenty of trees to make fighting staffs out of, and even bow and arrows.

Rachel said as she was sitting behind Sully, that she felt that the New York group was a good move to us and that we all should head there...Criss stopped the wagon and got everyone together to make a vote...who was for searching for a new building to inhabit...and who was up for the long journey to the group in New York...everyone was up for the journey to New York except for Mickey, Billy, and Leland...Criss looked at me, and I said it was settled we were all going toward New York...once we were on the move again...Johnny squealed from the wagon hollering out for his she-wolf he named Palla...she was racing toward the wagon trying to find her family. Kiefer stood up in the wagon hoping to see his wolf Huttser as well...but he didn't see him anywhere...Johnny jumped out of the wagon as Palla reached his arms...when Johnny looked at her mouth she was carrying a rabbit, in her mouth and laid it at her young master's feet...I slid of Cochise and let Kc ride alone for a while as I went back to Johnny and told him that Palla was taking care of him, by hunting for him...that's what wolves do for their family...it was their instinct. Johnny handed me the rabbit and said he didn't want it...but I told him it would come in handy later...so I skinned it and gutted it, then put it in the cooler with the leftover meat from King.

Kiefer asked where Huttser was at, and I just told him that he was probably doing the same thing...out hunting for survival...then told him not to worry that Huttser would follow Kiefer's scent and find us. I walked with Johnny for a while then I put him back in the wagon and whistled for Cochise to come pick me up...a crawled up behind Kc and headed toward the front to ride alongside Criss again...several hours went by and everyone was getting tired of traveling...and was getting hungry as well...but I told them just a little further until we hit the bend of the stream, then we could stop for the night and set up a campfire and eat...then everyone that could fit in the wagon to sleep would do so...and the rest of us would sleep close to the fire...and try to keep warm. So after we ate, we all unsaddled the horses and tethered them to the wagon...then we used the saddles as pillows and the saddle blankets as a little cushioning for us to lay on...I kept the fire going bright so that we wouldn't completely freeze...then I snuggled up behind Kc and went to sleep sharing each other's warmth.
