Chapter Three: Peter POV

I don't really remember what happened. I was just getting off the subway, my webs attached to my wrists. I knew that I was in a bad neighborhood, but I really did not feel like wasting web material to save some mugging that could be solved by just a single punch. The last thing that I remember is going to put on my suit, but being stopped by a man with patches of a metal-like substance on his face, knocking me out with his fist.

After some time, (you can't tell when you're unconscious), I woke up in a barred cell. The place wasn't musty or cold, in fact it was the opposite. The gold and white cell was filled with food and even a TV! It looked like a white and gold version of Princess Sofia the first's room! Hey, don't judge me, look it up, it's true!

Wait, I'm getting distracted, I need to get out of here! I looked around to see Pepper and Percy laying in separate king size beds in opposite corners of the cell - no, castle bedroom. I slowly woke Pepper up and went to get Percy. I shook him till he fell off the bed, but alas, not a single open eye. But Pepper had an idea.

"Percy! The blue cookies are hot out of the oven!" She yelled, a smile plastered on her face.

Percy shot up knocking me over, and looked around with puppy dog eyes. Pepper giggled at his face when he realized that there were no cookies.

I had a moment of dread come over me. I realized that I still had my webs on and could easily get us out of here. But that would mean revealing my identity. I had to decide fast!

Percy furrowed his brow with a drop of sweat running down his tanned face. Pepper on the other hand, was having a panic attack. She was shaking in the corner whispering to herself. Not even a second later her head shot up and her arm wiped away the tears.

"Boys, this is probably some sort of bargaining option. Us for an Avenger, so don't give in when the kidnapper asks questions. I know that this is a lot to ask, but I need you to remain strong." She lectured.

"I'm fine, it's not like this hasn't happened before." Percy mumbled, then covered his mouth with his hand, as if realizing what he said.

"What do you mean, have you been kidnapped before?" Pepper asked. That seemed a little strange to me, who would want to kidnap Percy?

"Umm...." Percy stalled, "That isn't important right now, but we have to get out, and fast."

Percy was right, but I knew now that our only hope of getting out was with my powers. I took a deep breath in and said, "Ok, I have a way out, but it involves revealing a secret that is my entire lifestyle." I blurted out, not thinking about how weird that would sound.

"Honestly, anything that will get us out of here is good to me. So what's the big secret? You have a triple jointed elbow?" Pepper said tiredly.

"It's a lot bigger than that, in fact it takes up most of my life. Now you cannot tell anyone, especially the Avengers," I took a deep breath and said, "I'm Spider Man."

The reaction from Pepper was expected. She gasped and looked like she had seen a ghost. But none to my surprise, she came up and hugged me to the point where I wasn't sure if I was still breathing. But Percy just shrugged his shoulders. He looked normal, and even cool with it. I wasn't too sure if that was a real reaction, but I brushed it off.

"So how is that going to help?" He asked.
I was dumbstruck, he was almost mad, but had some sort of giddy expression on his face, like at least it wasn't him having to reveal a secret identity.

"Well my webs can connect to the password lock, and I can hack it through there."

"Peter, you are my hero!" Pepper cried.

I smiled and stood up. I then proceed to shoot the silk from my wrists, connecting it to the lock. Then I turned on the transfer code, unlocking the doors.

"We're free!" Percy squealed.

But the joy didn't last long. The same man who knocked me out cornered us. I could see him more clearly than before. The man had metal patches on his tan skin, his arms bulging from his muscle tee. He had a brown military buzz cut, yet looked no older than 20.

"How you escape! You supposed to be trade for me and master!" He roared dumbly. He was certainly a character, he obviously had brawns but no brains. Boy, I was right.

"What's your name?" Percy asked. Man he was brave, defenceless against some sort of monster, but still asking questions. They say curiosity killed the cat.

"Rani, pronounced rah-nee." Rani said proudly.

"Ok... Rani, can you tell us who your master is, and why you want the Avengers?" Percy asked.

"No boy, I not dumb. I have short speech." He frowned.

"Ok, well we will go back to the cell." I said, inching away from the towering man.

"Good." He smiled.

We shuffled back into the cell, all with different expressions. Pepper looked as if she could throw up right now, but wouldn't because she was the oldest, and had to hold herself together. Percy almost looked bored, like he could've gotten out hours ago, but didn't. I hated his calm persona, why couldn't I relax during stressful times? I still couldn't wrap my mind around telling my identity either. They both seemed pretty cool with it but then again, we are in a life or death situation.

"So, what do you want to do?" Pepper asked, "We can't get out, even with Peter being Spider Man, Rani's brute strength is too much."

"I know that, but we-we have to get out of here! My Aunt must be worried sick!" I cried.

After that, we all sat in silence, all thinking about how lucky we were to at least not be tortured. We have gotten very lucky so far, our capturar had good taste. But that assumption did not last long. Rani stormed in, heat pouring out of his ears.

"Come with me." He roared, seeming very angry all of a sudden.

We were all dragged by our arms to an actually dark and musty cell. Looking around, I saw untied ropes all in a row. Then it hit me, we were going to be tied up. This couldn't happen, no, no, no. Rani led us to the ropes, where he dutifully tied us to the walls.

"Master said I can do this." Rani glowered.

"Rani, what's wrong, you don't want to hurt us." Pepper whispered.

"No, you cause this, all your fault!" He screamed.

"What do you mean, what is all our fault?" Percy said, breaking the silence.

Rani's metal patches began to pour out, dripping down his face and body. He closed his eyes, and the metal started to rise. The liquid base started to form into shapes, filling the room.

"This, you cause this." He cried.

"Ok, can you tell us how this happened?" I asked.

"Fine," He grumbled, bringing the metal back into his body, "It happened at old job. I was metal mixer in iron factory, working after hours to finish mixture. I was near hot vat of every metal combined, our greatest creation. But that when Avengers swooped in. They had mission to capture some man who was undercover at factory, so they surrounded the place. Some sort of boom knocked me into vat... for three months. One day, master took me out, but I had already gained ability. The boom was caused by Loki, the bad man, so I got bad magic. My master promised me freedom if I worked for her. This perfect because I will get my revenge while my master gets hers. But that not concern you, for now. You mine." Rani smiled evilly.

We all looked at each other with the same expression. We are doomed.
