Chapter Five: Percy POV
Previously: After we got rescued, we headed to Stark Industries and unloaded. Everything was relatively quiet until Peter and I got a call from Fury to meet him on the helicarrier. Once we got on, we headed to Fury's office, though I don't know how Peter knew where it was. I was about to confront him when Fury spoke up, "I have a proposition for you. I saw your potential during the fight, and with Peter already working here, I want you to have a job."
"What exactly are you asking?" I asked.
"I want you to join the Avengers."
Peter almost fainted. He looked a bit cross-eyed and started to get off balance once Fury asked him the question. I on the other hand, was pretty chill about it.
"So if we are a part of the Avengers, do you dictate everything I do? And since we are now living in the Avengers tower, can I invite my friends? Oh, and I want a summer and winter break unless it is an emergency." I said.
"Not everything, sure and I can try." Fury responded.
"Ok, then it is a yes for me. And from Peter's reaction, I think he will say the same thing."
"It's a yes for me." Peter struggled to say before he actually fainted this time.
After a few papers that needed to be signed, Peter and I headed back to the Avengers tower. I headed to the bathroom immediately and IM'd my friends.
"Fleecy do me a solid and show me Annabeth, Camp Half Blood."
I did this with the rest of the seven, Nico, Thalia, Calypso, the Stolls, Katie, Clarisse, Renya, Will, Chris, Grover, Tyson, Rachel, and a few other friends to tell them where I was and that they could visit me. I then proceeded to tell them the password to get into my floor, blue cookies. I was so bored, there was nobody ever home, and when they were, everyone was either working on a project or training. I was done with sitting around, I was going to train too.
I headed to the gym where I saw everybody in hand to hand combat. Steve and Clint were at it, but they were clearly not evenly matched. Natasha was trying to overpower Thor, but was obviously not succeeding. Peter, Tony and Bruce were fangirling over some new tech piece, leaving me alone in my thoughts.
SNAP!
"Yield?"
"Yield."
I saw Nat get up off the floor, blood rolling off of her left cheek. Thor looked like a big teddy bear as he got up, victorious. I watched as they shook hands awkwardly.
"Percy, would you like to try your strength against one of us?" Clint asked.
"Sure, I'm really bored anyways."
"You can partner with Clint, he's the weak link." Tony laughed.
"Hey!" Clint whined.
I went over to the floor, and took position. The fight happened in a blur, and within a second, literally, Clint was sprawled out on the floor. Everyone looked at me like I had just grown two heads.
"How did you do that! Clint is a level 7 S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, yet an untrained rookie defeated him in a few seconds!" Nat squeaked out.
"Ah, I expected no less young hero, but please don't encourage him to fight team, he could kill all of you in a matter of milliseconds." Thor boomed before disappearing into thin air.
Everyone looked around, surprise etched on their faces.
"Rematch... I want a rematch, COD style." Clint wheezed out, coughing loudly.
