Chapter Seven: Percy POV

It was only temporary. That was what I kept repeating to myself whenever I would let my guard down and think that I was safe. I had to remind myself that we still faced a major threat. It was easy to contain forces that you had to defeat with brute force, but when it came to mind games, I was not game.

"Percy, snap out of it!" Annabeth giggled as she waved her hand in front of my face.

"Never!" I cried as I stood up and scooped her up in my arms. We ran around chasing each other for a bit, without that horrible cloud of worries looming over our heads.

"Ok... I... surrender..." Annabeth heaved as she struggled to catch her breath.

We then settled down and headed to the kitchen where everyone seemed to be having a meeting. Tony had a smirk as he talked, and as we got closer we heard, "So it's settled? One week?"

Everyone muttered their agreement as we walked in with confused faces. I looked around to see everyone staring at us with a strange expression.

"Is there something on my face?" I asked, puzzled.

"What Percy means to say is what's happening?" Annabeth smiled, slapping my shoulder playfully.

"Well, everyone has agreed that we should all take a little vacation. We are going to Kinwi Island, which is in the middle of the Pacific Ocean." Steve smiled.

"Ok, for how long?" Annabeth piped in.

"Around a week or two, just to get our minds off things. I own the place, so you can be sure that it will be five out of five stars!" Tony smirked.

"The place, not the owner." Frank mumbled.

Everyone burst out laughing at his comment, while Tony turned an unflattering shade of red. For the rest of the hour, we all planned out little details, then dispersed to start packing. The packing was relatively easy, though it was to nobody's surprise that Tony had the biggest suitcase.

"Everyone ready to go?" Bruce called.

We all muttered our yes's, and a minute later, the private jet took flight. You might wonder why three children of Poseidon and Hades would be flying, well let me answer your question. The Gods have a mutual agreement not to attack any innocent demigod, so therefore air travel is now possible.

I'm actually a big fan of flying, and I now hate the water. I absolutely love the feeling of almost throwing up every few seconds, and having bits of turbulence shake you to no end. I have never been afraid of heights, only that I would be zapped out of the air. Now I can completely live out my dream of being a pilot, and flying everyday.

Though it was quite amusing watching the "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" handle a bunch of ADHD teens in a confined space. Annabeth was laughing the entire time, and we all did our best to annoy the crew.

"Landing will begin in 30 minutes." The intercom buzzed. We all buckled our seatbelts at that, and began to settle down.

Once the plane finally landed, we all filed out of the plane, single file. But now that we are safe on the ground, let me be the first to say that the air hell was worth it.

It was paradise.

Nico POV

I hate compromises. I never get what I want out of them. We all agreed to go by a plane in the air to a small plot of land surrounded by water. Both areas out of my expertise. I also hate this stupid excuse of a team. The only decent guy that I have met so far it Steve. But since I was born around the same time as him, I already worshipped him from a young age.

"Hey Neeks, wait up!" I heard Hazel say from behind me.

"Yeah Haze?" I smiled, looking back at her.

"Can you put my stuff in my room quickly? I have a date with Frank in a minute, thanks brother!" Hazel smirked as she threw the luggage onto me, making a run for it.

I groaned internally as I shadow traveled to her room, dropping off the 5000 pound bag. Dam, what do girls put in these things anyways? All I packed was clothes, a toothbrush and some deodorant, what else do you need?

I didn't bother shadow travelling back, so I decided to walk around the place. Tony's mansion was more of a mini city than a home, not something that I wanted to get used to. I headed down to a small cafe that reminded me of "Cafe Devon", which was my favorite cafe from my childhood which just happened to become a chain.

I sat down and brewed myself a small latte and grabbed a blueberry muffin. I slipped my headphones on and started listening to some music to calm me down. I ate for about five minutes before Steve walked in.

"Hey, how are you?" He asked as I took my headphones off.

"Doing well sir." I responded.

He seemed taken aback as he said, "Wow, I haven't seen many kids in this time period with proper respect. What's your name kid?"

I chuckled and responded, "Well number one, I am not a kid, and number two my name is Nico Di Angelo."

"Well you're under 18, therefore by government law, you are a child." He laughed.

"Hate to break it to you Steve, but I am only six years younger than you."

"Well that's still under 18 son." Steve chuckled. Adults were so oblivious sometimes, it really frustrated me.

"That's not what I meant. I was born in 1924, whereas you were born in 1918. So I am not technically a kid."

Steve looked absolutely haunted, "Wait you're immortal?"

"Nope, never was and never will be. I was stuck in the Lotus Casino for many years with my sister who died. It basically makes a year seem like an hour, but thankfully the furies took us out a few years ago." I cringed, remembering the horrible time.

"I can't believe it, someone who is just as clueless as I am with this modern world!" Steve shouted with joy.

"You should meet Hazel, she is even more clueless than you because she was resurrected from when she died only a year ago. She was born in 1928 though." I giggled, remembering the chicken nugget incident.

Steve looked as if his life was complete. He headed back to the common lounge to show the Avengers about his "discovery" but something stopped him... and everybody else on the island. I mean, who wouldn't stop in their tracks when you see a huge sea monster the size of New York. And I'm pretty sure that you would run too when you realized that it was heading straight toward you.
