Chapter Six: Tony POV

This is all so confusing. The entire team didn't know how to comprehend this new information. I mean another three sets of Gods was a lot to handle, and adding in Percy's role definitely added to the uneasiness I felt.

"So are we just gonna sit here or..." Nico trailed off.

"Yeah, we can't just sit here all day as you process a little information." Hazel complained, crossing her arms.

The demigods all seemed very impatient, but we wouldn't budge. At the time, we seemed comparable to rocks. Very persistent, bruting rocks. I had no idea what would come next, our team couldn't really compare to theirs. I mean we all had "special skills" but real powers were rare within the Avengers. The demigods all had born abilities whereas we all relied solely on our instincts.

"Come on," Percy whined, "Let's go out!"

Everyone muttered their agreements, and we all went down in the elevator. Let's just say if I wasn't claustrophobic before, I definitely am now. But the anger was short lived. When we got to the first floor, everyone had the mark. Now that it was recognizable, it was obvious who was here.

"Ah, my little pawns." Nuena cackled in a sickly sweet voice.

"Nuena, what do you want!" Frank yelled, stepping forward.

Nuena didn't respond, she just smiled. There were a few breathless moment of silence before it happened. There was a blazing flash before my eyes, blinding me with no mercy. The screams of my friends were muffled as I started to lose consciousness. I could see everyone running toward me, but my eyes were starting to blur along with all of my senses.

That's when I saw the light. It was faint at first, but the golden orb started to pulse as it came crashing toward me. My senses suddenly flooded my mind as I tried to charge at the spirit with no remorse.

That didn't work.

She sidestepped my angry self and began to do some sort of spell. The workers under her control started to stir, and suddenly they all went into a battle stance. Nuena just stood there with a smirk on her pale face.

"So how do you like my little army!" She said with a glint in her eye.

"You can't just use innocent civilians against us. It's not fair!" Cap pouted. Steve was so innocent, and saw the good in everyone. He was like a little cinnamon roll, and the team has tried to protect him from this sort of situation.

"Well if you're so upset, I'll just leave then." Nuena said as she magically poofed away, leaving us to fight an army.

"Great, how are we going to do this?" Piper sighed.

The group was contemplating this when suddenly Clint cried, "Behind you Tony!"

I could barely make out the axe hurdling in my direction before I ducked. It made a whistling noise as it cut through the air a few inches above my head. I gave a girlish scream as I scrambled back to form a circle with the rest of the heroes.

The army started to surge forward, forming a flawless battle formation. I could barely comprehend the next few minutes, for the entire fight was a blur. The enemy threw multiple weapons, mainly knives, at us with such precision that I was surprised that none of us had been hit. We had to be careful to not harm the employees in any way because it was all mind control, but that proved to be very difficult.

We kept on dodging the fatal weapons, but we couldn't keep this up much longer. I looked around to see everyone out of breath and energy. Another problem was that only Nico, Piper and Jason were the only ones making progress.

Piper talked to the people, and they listened and stayed back, but her voice was starting to strain. The people started to slowly resist it, and move forward in slow motion.

Nico was trying to restrain the army with skeletons, but everyone could tell that his powers were draining. The corpses started to sink back into the ground, and he was on the verge of collapse.

Jason was able to make an air current, keeping the enemy away, but the paper expression on his face kept us from pushing his limits. The air started to thin out, and most of us could barely breathe properly.

"Guys we can't play offensive, what do we do?" Leo asked. His powers couldn't do much without hurting the workers, and he was getting impatient.

The sound of the gun going off ripped through my ears, the sound slicing the air. The echo of the ear-splitting "BANG" was deafening as it nicked the side of my ear. But the bullet wasn't meant for me.

It hit Leo.

He crumpled to the floor immediately as it struck him square in the shoulder. Frank and Calypso rushed to his side, trying to coax some form of brownies into his mouth. He was carried to the side, blood pouring out of his shoulder.

I caught a glimpse of Hazel staring at him, tears pooling up in her eyes. She then did the most unexpected thing, "That's it, you'll pay for this!" Hazel screamed at the top of her lungs.

She suddenly made the air turn cloudy, and I could see the anger rippling off her body. Her golden eyes were blazing with fury, and I stepped back, not wanting to be in the middle of this. Her hair rose, it's dark curls making a halo around her face.

Then the surge came. A wave of energy passed through the room, and the mist cleared. I looked at the time, and it had been five hours since we came down here, and I know that we only fought for maybe half of an hour. So where did that four and a half hours go? Did the surge take that long? I wasn't so sure what to believe right now.

Hazel looked very dizzy, and Annabeth and Thalia rushed to catch her before she fainted. We all looked around to see my employees back to normal with no memories of the incident. We all filed upstairs to the infirmary where Leo suddenly died.

Well, he died of excitement at the news that he wouldn't be dying anytime soon.

His shoulder would need to be in a mold to hold it in place for a few weeks, but other than that, no permanent surgeries were needed. Everyone else was prescribed to just get in some rest after that draining fight.

I headed back to my suite and then drifted off into a warm, dreamless night.

Leo POV

Despite the chaos, my wound was rather painless. As soon as the metal connected with my body, I lost all physical conscience, allowing my body to feel numb. But that wasn't the worst part. That award goes to the nightmare.

I still can't remember much, but I could still hear the screams. A young girl was separated by a red, glass wall that neither of us could break. I could hear her muffled screams as she pounded relentlessly, trying to break free of her glass cage. I tried to reach out to help her, but whenever I would try to move, I would be shocked.

This scene looped for what seemed like forever before the dream melted away, and reality came back into play. I peeled open my eyelids, only to see everyone staring down at me with a worried expression. My heart suddenly fluttered, my friends actually cared, maybe I wasn't just a worthless nobody.

The doctor explained that my shoulder would need a cast, but no other damage was done. I consider myself to be one lucky person if a bullet can't kill me.

"LEO'S BACK BABY!" I shouted as I punched my fist in the air.
