Phil couldn't help that he was a protective person. He was very territorial, especially when it came to his friends and the people that he loves.
He and Dan were polar opposites. Phil was bright, cheerful, and colorful. Dan was dark, not really depressing but not cheerful like a perfect mix of the the two, and not very colorful. Phil wore a lot of color and rarely any black. Dan rarely wore color and always wore black. The only thing that really made them friends was their interests but they always say that opposites attract and that was the case here.
Chris and PJ never figured out how the two even became friends because of how much their personalities clashed. Dan and Phil argued over the littlest of things. One argument that happened almost every morning was Phil eating the younger boys cereal at night and leaving barely any for a bowl in the morning. All the others were what they would do that day or what they would have for dinner that night. Chris always said that they argued like a married couple but they always argued back that they didn't.

The rest of the time Chris and PJ were at the house the four just played video games and had conversations. It was late when the two decided it was finally time to leave. They said their goodbyes, PJ receiving a hateful look from Phil when he hugged Dan goodbye. There was a part of Phil that knew PJ had a thing for Dan but he knew that Dan would never hurt him. PJ had curly brown hair, amazing emerald green eyes that you could get lost in, a smile that showed perfect teeth and a very soothing voice. Phil thought about PJ more and how perfect he was. All of this made him insecure. It made him start questioning himself.
Am I good enough for Dan?
Does he like the way I look?
Is he even attracted to me or did he say that so I wouldn't get hurt?
"Phil?" Dan waved his hand in front of his face gaining his attention.
"Huh?" Phil shook his head pushing the thoughts to the back of his head.
"Are you ready for bed or do you want to watch a movie?" Dan asked resting his head in the crook of Phil's neck.
"Let's watch a movie then go to sleep." Phil got up from the couch and put in a movie.
Once Phil say back down Dan opened his arms offering great to hold him while they watched. Phil leaned into his arms and Dan kissed the top of his head smiling. The movie ended and Phil looked up at Dan who had fallen asleep in the middle of the movie. He didn't want to wake him so he just got comfortable in his arms and went to sleep.
