COVER:
Your cover is great. The letter are bold, the colors are vivid, the resolution is good quality, and the sticker makes it pop. It's definitely going to grab readers attention.
Summary:
Your summary is very straight forward. It tells a little bit about both Scarlett and Mason's backstory. And it foreshadows the future a little bit. It grabs the readers attention by giving hints about conflicts that the characters will face. It leaves them wondering, "Oh! What's going to happen?"
I personally, do not think you even need a teaser in the summary. I think it's fine on it's own. But if you did add a teaser I think it would make it even better.
What I liked:
Let me start off by saying your story is awesome and I did not even realize that I read the entire thing. (Expect to see me in your notifications)
I want to bullet point a few things that I saw straight away in your story that hooked me instantly.
* Chapter 1, straight away there is gay character. I love that this generation we are in is more and more accepting to the LGBTQ Community. And I love that it's becoming more and more of theme in modern literature. I really appreciated that you instantly specified that Liam is a gay teenager. (For some reason I picture him just like the main gay guy in the TV show 'Faking It' who ironically, has a straight best friend named Liam)
* Also, straight away in Chapter 1 you identified a conflict. The relationship between Scarlett and her Step Father. As well as, the strained relationship with Mason and his Father. I feel like at some point in the story that these strained relationships with their parental figures will make them become closer. But I think it will tear them apart too.
* I like that you switch the POV between Mason and Scarlett. I feel like I can get to know each character a little bit better than I would if it was just in one POV. This being said I feel like you are able to shift between the both of them with ease.
* Your chapters are short. Which in some way I hate but love. I love that you have these short choppy chapters that leave readers wanting more. The way you end each one just leaves us wanting more (which I hate currently because, cliffhanger). And as a writer thats what you want from your readers. You've got that in the bag Sister.
* I like that at the top of each chapter you have quotes or lyrics. I feel like that just adds to your story its great and it goes along with the title.
As far as your writing style goes, it's great. You have these short, straight to the point sentences, that don't exhaust the readers. They can quickly glaze over them and reach the end of each sentence with ease. You also, don't go into long descriptions of everything around the characters, you leave the surrounds up to the imagination of the reader. I think the first thing I noticed when reading your story was that your sentences and chapters are short as well as the descriptions. Yet, it still grabs my attention draws readers in. Your writing style reminds me of the Classic American author, Earnest Hemingway. If you don't know who that author is I suggest you look him up and do a little research, because I think your writing style relates to his. It's great.
(Side note: I'm totally shipping Scarlett and Mason so hard. And I kinda hate you right now for leaving me with such a massive cliff hangar. I can't wait to read your next chapter!)
Weaknesses:
Honestly, I can find little to no errors in your writing. Your writing style is so short that your sentences are not too dynamic that you get lost in small errors. Your style has done you well in that aspect of your writing. Although, I did find a few grammatical errors such as the context of 'your' and 'you're'. Small things like that. Those are easy fixes. Maybe just go back through a few of your chapters and revise them just a little bit. :)
Overall:
You have a flashy cover, a great summary that hooks readers attention, short chapter that aren't exhausting to read, and little error's. I think this is a great book and you just need to keep doing what you are doing, because it's fantastic. When I started reading, I totally did not expect that I would read everything that you had wrote from day one. You have characters that teens can relate too and this awesome writing style. All I can say is keep it up and keep breaking our hearts. Because every reader knows that a book that breaks their heart is an amazing book.
