Hey guys this is my first ever fanfic, it might be slow or boring to start off with but please give it a chance, I am from Scotland so I may use different words and spelling. Suggestions to improve my story are always helpful and appreciated. I don't own The Originals/The vampire diares only the characters that I make up. Also sorry for any spelling mistakes or errors I will try my best :]]

I woke up to the loud sound of my alarm. It was time to leave again. My mum hates living in the same place for to long so we move around a lot. She's never really told me why. It's always just been my mum and I. I don't know who my dad is but my mum has told me stories about him, none of which have been good. She says that i'm his spitting image. My name is Kiera, I am 15 years old, have long curly golden blonde hair, green eyes and dimples. Oh and I am also I hybrid. We were living in a small two bedroom flat in New York. I could of compelled us somewhere better to live but my mum hates is when I use compulsion on people.  I loved living in such a big city I could feed any time I wanted and no one would notice. I hated the thought of moving away from such an amazing place. Our next stop is mystic falls. My mum Kate has always talked about going back there she said its a lovely little town but to me it just sounds boring. I got out my bed and got changed. I put on a pair of dark blue skinny jeans, a black vest top and a burgundy lacey top over it. I didn't have to pack much as most of my stuff was still packed from the last time we moved. We put our stuff in the back of the car and was on our way.

Four of five hours later we arrived at Mystic falls. It was exactly what I expected small, dull and boring. It was so quite compared to the city. Our new house was just outside Mystic Falls. It looked abandoned. It was a dump. The windows were crooked, sickly green weeds were creeping over the path and the small garden pond was covered in slime. The paint was weathered and peeling off in spots. This was never going to feel like home. Inside was no better. I walked upstairs and found my room. It was a big empty room with a small single bed in the middle of it.

It was six o clock so me and mum went out to find a place to eat and for me someone to eat. We stopped at a small place called the Mystic Grill. We went inside and sat down at a booth. My mum went up to the bar to get a drink. She always has a drink by her side but this didn't bother me. She started talking to man that was sitting at the bar, she's always been a bit of a flirt. The man handed her a piece of paper and she came back over and sat down. Immediately I questioned her about it but she just ignored me. A cute waiter came over and took our order. A we while later while my mum was clearing out the bars liquor supply I went out into the car park to find someone to eat. I spotted a tall girl with brown hair. I waited for her to get our of her car. Then I went for her but before I could get to her someone stopped me. A man. The same man that gave my mum the note. He held me back and said with  strong English accent "Not this one sweetheart". Before I could answer back he was gone and so was the brown haired girl. In the few seconds that I saw him I felt like I knew him, his face was so familiar. I went back into the grill to question my mum about her but she was too drunk to give me any serious answers.

I woke up the next morning and went through to my mums room. She was sound a sleep which was no surprise. I went into her jeans pocket to get the note that the man gave to her. It was an invitation to a ball. Why the hell would this random man invite us to a ball?.  My mum started to regain consciousness so I bolted out the door before she could see me. I went down stairs and started to drink a blood bag. A few minutes later she she stumbled down the stairs. "So a ball, who was that man?" I asked. she just stared at me with a blank face. "To many questions for the morning, all with be reveled." She said whilst making a cup of tea. After her tea she gave me some money and told me to go buy something nice for this ball. I don't know why she gives me money she knows I can get everything for free. I set out looking for a decent shop.  I came across a small shop in the center of town. I tried on loads of dresses before I found the right one.

It was nearly time to leave I had my hair down and in tight ringlet curls, my dress was a black strapless skater dress with a silver pattern at the top of it and I had a pair of  black and silver high heels to go with it. My mum had on an elegant ballroom dress with diamonds all over the top, it was a rich champagne colour she looked beautiful in it. The ball was held and in  huge mansion I have never been in such a fancy place before. The ballroom was beautiful there was fairy lights all around it and loads of people dancing having a good time. I was still confused on why we were here. I looked around to find my mum and already she was over at the open bar. As the night went on my mum got drunker and drunker. Everyone was called into the main ballroom. It was the man from the grill and he was making a speech. I was to busy watching my drunken mum flirt with every guy she could see to listen but It was something about family. I went up to my mum and asked her once again who that man is and what we were doing here. She looked me in the eyes and said       " We're here because that man is your dad."  I didn't believe her at first but the more I thought about it the more it made sense. I didn't know how to feel about this. Loads of emotions started flowing through my body. It felt like the whole  world had stopped spinning. I had no idea how to react. I started to walk away from my mum, she tried to chase me but before she knew it I was gone in a flash. I had to get out of there.
