Chapter 29 - Ninja

I was searching my closet for something to wear to Charlotte's party. I had a lot of clothes but none were good enough. My phone rang from my bed side table and I VS to it and answered it.

 (K) "Hello"

(C) "We're going shopping"  Charlotte practically sang from the other end

(K) "good, I need something to wear to your party tonight"

(C) "That's why we're going shopping. I'll pick you up in 10"

She hung up, after that I quickly got ready and waited for her to arrive. I got a text telling me she was outside so I VS down the stairs where I was met by Klaus.

Klaus "Where are you going?"

"shopping. I'll be back soon" I said with a smirk. He gave me a funny look before continuing what ever it was he was doing. I skipped out the compound and into Charlottes car where I'm met with Charlotte and another girl sitting in the back seat. "Kiera this is Molly, she will be at the party tonight and is coming shopping with us" Charlotte explained and I smiled at the girl in the back. I could hear her heartbeat. It was irregular, like she was frightened to be in the car. I could feel her witch powers radiate off of her. Great another witch bitch to deal with. Charlotte started the car and we headed off towards the mall. The ride was silent and awkward, the only sound coming from the radio. Charlotte wasn't normally this quiet. Maybe she feels guilty for planning to kill me. I hated to think that my old time friend was betraying me. Thinking of it made my heart break a little. We finally arrived at the mall. I had never felt so relieved to see a shopping centre.

I was walking around what felt like the hundredth shop. Nothing appealed to me. I couldn't get Charlottes betrayal off my mind. Maybe my dream was wrong. Yea that's right my dream was wrong. I looked around the shop and spotted Charlotte and Molly standing in the corner of the shop whispering to each other. I picked up a random dress and walked up to them "hey guys i'm going to try this on be back in a sec" Charlotte looked at the dress and laughed.

Charlotte "Really Kiera you're thinking of wearing that to my party?"

I looked down at the dress, it was a horrid green thing with ruffles all over it. It looked like something a clown would wear. "i'm trying out a new style" I lied trying to not let my embarrassment show.

Charlotte "Okay then... we'll head to the food court and meet you there?"

"sure thing" I smiled heading towards the changing rooms. I hid behind the entrance of the changing rooms and waited a few minutes after they left before following them. I could see Charlotte and Molly amongst a sea of people in the mall. I needed to know what they were talking about but there were to many conversations around me to focus on just the one. I needed to get closer so I started making my way through people, making sure to keep a safe distance. Molly nodded her head and turned to look around her, I quickly jumped behind an advert board for a shop before I was caught. I was like a fucking ninja. I looked around the edge and she was facing forwards again so I jumped out from behind my awesome hiding place causing someone to walk into the back of me.

"watch it!" a deep voice shouted.

"sorry you walked into me!" I shouted back. I quickly looked at Molly and Charlotte, they were clearly looking for the source of he shouting.

"you teens are so rude!" an older women shouted at me. I quickly left them before I was spotted. I speed walked over to the coffee cart that was sitting outside of Topshop, I stood at the other side of it and looked through the small shelves to watch the two witches. They made it to the food court and I watched them carefully, following them to where they sat, which was behind a small wall. I quickly made my way over, constantly watching the two of them to make sure they didn't see me. As I got closer I crouched down behind the wall and focused on the two of them.

Molly "I swear she knows something!"

Charlotte "Will you relax, you're just paranoid"

Molly "She's not stupid Char, she knows"

Charlotte "Kiera knows nothing, just keep a cool head it will all be over soon"

I couldn't listen to anymore. Charlotte was betraying me. I couldn't deny it anymore. I quickly sneaked out from behind the wall and started walking away so I could walk back and pretend that I wasn't there the whole time listening to their conversation.

"Kiera?" One of them shouted. I was to lost in my own thoughts to realise who it was. I slowly turned around. Think, Kiera, think. "There you two are! I thought you had gone into another shop before coming here, I couldn't see you"

Charlotte "we've been sitting here the whole time"

"I must be getting old...so what we eating?" I quickly changed the subject, thankful that neither of them brought it up again. After about an hour and a half later Charlotte finally dropped me off at the compound. I had decided to take maters into my own hands. I sat in my room, studying loads of spells that might come in handy before getting ready to go to the party. Tonight I was going to confront Charlotte.
