Chapter 3 - New life, new me

Its been a week since my mum left me. She hadn't called or even sent me a text. Living in the Mikaelson household wasn't as bad as I thought It would be. I hated to admit it but it was better than living with my mum. I had so much in common with my auntie Rebekah we loved the same things apart from her centuries old taste in music. My uncle Elijah grew really protective over be but I liked it. Me and Klaus don't really have that much in common apart from our love for art. We only really talked when we were painting. He was a lot harder to talk to than his siblings. I decided that I was going to move on with my life. New life, new me. I'm going to start going to school. I never really had much chance to go to school in the past because we moved around so much. At first Elijah was against it at first but Rebekah helped me win him around. Shes a senior so it wasn't like I wouldn't have someone there to look out or me. 

It was my first day at Mystic Falls high school. I stood outside looking at the tall building. I felt intimidated by it and quite nervous. "come on" Rebekah shouted as she pulled me in the door. She showed me to the main office giving me a quick tour as we went. She went up to the lady behind the desk looked into her eyes and said "This is Kiera Mikaelson, shes new here. Everything you need is in these papers." "Everything I need is in these papers" The women repeated in a robotic tone. Rebekah turned to me and said "Theres some stuff I got to do If you need me just give me a shout." and she walked away. I walked out the office and straight into another person. My books went everywhere. I kneeled down to pick them up. I looked up and there was a boy holding out his hand to help me up. He had short brown hair, deep brown eyes that sparkled in the light and the most amazing smile. I grabbed his hand and he helped me up. "Hi my names Jeremy, Jeremy Gilbert." "Hi I'm Kiera, I'm.. new."  "Let me walk you to your class, its the least I could do" He said whilst taking my books out of my hand. We got to the door of my next class. "see ya around" he said whilst giving me my books back. I went in the classroom and sat in a seat at the back. "you know Jeremy Gilbert?!"  The girl sitting in a desk beside me asked. "well...em kinda I guess". "You're so lucky he's so hot!." "Hi my names Ali." she said whilst shaking my hand. Ali was in all my classes. By lunch time we became friends. She was new to the school as well so she knew what it felt like. After school she convinced me to go to the cheerleading try outs with her. Cheerleading wasn't really my thing but who knew maybe I'd like it. I am a hybrid in all, its not like I would be able to do any of the routines. The captain of the cheerleaders name was Caroline, she seemed really bossy. She came up to me and Ali and said "Do you have what it takes?" I ran down the field and back flipped all the way backup landing directly in front of her face. She looked at me and smiled "you're in". "okay as long as my friend Ali is too." Her smile grew bigger "of course." Ali ran over to me and gave me a huge hug. I couldn't wait to go home and tell everyone about the amazing day I just had.

We were all sitting around the table eating dinner like a normal family. I had just told them every detail about my day. "Jeremy Gilbert...Well that's interesting" Says Elijah. " Jeremy Gilbert out of all the boys in that school you choose Jeremy bloody Gilbert." Was Rebekahs reaction. "I have to agree with Rebekah on this one." added Klaus. "Well I like him." "and that's all that matters" added Elijah. I was so happy I went straight upstairs to my room and added today's events into my sketch book. I've had this book since I leart how to draw. Every night I draw what happened that day on a blank page with the date under it. Finally I had something good to put in it.
