Chapter song: Lightning by The Wanted

Chapter 18- Desirée POV-

It was 6:54 p.m and Hades was shouting at me to hurry up and get everyone ready.

The ghosts were still confused, even though I had explained the situation to them over thirty times.

"But why do we have to go?" One of the dead girls complained.

My eye twitched. If she and I weren't dead, I would've repeatedly bashed her head into the wall about twenty minutes ago.

"Because, as I have explained so many times before, Zeus demands all of our presences. Stop. Whining." My voice was almost high enough to be classified as yelling.

She just scowled at me and checked her nails for the second time in a matter of five minutes.

For the love of everything good and holy, her nails would be the same as they were the first time she checked them.

She was dead. She didn't seem to get that fact through her thick, dead skull.
My fists were clenched and Hades gave me a look, telling me to calm down.

He had told me before I had even stepped foot into Elysium that the ghosts would be in denial and confused.

I had asked why I hadn't been too much like that and he had just shrugged. I sighed and tried to think about other things.

Like, for one, my outfit. It was the same as it had been for the past three months and it was bothering me. I shook that thought off.

Hades was tapping his wrist, telling me that the time was ticking. After hanging around him so closely, Hades didn't seem so intimidating anymore.

Even though he was still slightly taller than me, which was something that couldn't be helped.

He raised an eyebrow at me as I strode towards him. He must've heard the whole thing between me and that stupid dead girl.

"I warned you about the confusion." Hades smirked.

I scowled and angrily crossed my arms over my chest. He had warned me, but I refused to let him win.

"That wasn't confusion. That was stupidity at the highest level. It must've taken years to have gathered that much stupidity. I hadn't thought it was even possible to be that annoying." I mumbled.

I shouldn't let this ruin my relatively good mood, I mean, after all, I would get to see Percy, Nico, and Archer tonight. But the bad thing was that I couldn't drink the beverages. Dammit.

"I still warned you." Hades replied.

I narrowed my eyes at him jokingly and he just smiled, Shadow Traveling us all to Olympus for the celebration.

It was about 7:10 p.m now and Hades and I were fashionably late for the party, but no one really noticed.

Except for Zeus. He had noticed. And actually, everyone noticed our entrance. You know, seeing as Hades and I had brought over one hundred ghosts to the party.

I had been pushed, yes pushed, into the middle of the group of ghosts, and I couldn't see through all of the moving ghosts.

So, in other words, I couldn't find Percy, Nico, and Archer. But I did hear someone yell to gather everyone's attention. Even though I couldn't see, I knew it was Zeus.
