The Forbidden Relationship

Chapter 14

Ezra's pov

"Ezra can I talk to you for a minute?" Kanan asks when he comes into the common room. "Yeah sure." I say and get up from my seat and follow Kanan to his room.

This is probably going to be about the whole running away thing. I knew he let me go too easy. Ok, I'm ready for the interrogation till I can't take it anymore. "Ezra I wanted to talk to you about..." Wait for it. "Your training." He says. "I know, the reason for it was because I felt.......wait my training?" I ask realizing he didn't say anything about me running away.

"Um yeah." He says giving me a confused look. "Yeah my training, totally knew that." I lie. "Anyways......I feel that it's time you were to learn more about the Jedi culture." He says. "Ok, you mean like their old battles?" I ask him. "More like the past Jedi, who they were, what they fought in, and how they d-" He gets cut off from my phone ringing.

Karabast, it's Shadow. We both just stay silent and let it ring for a few seconds. "Who's that?" Kanan asks me. "What are you talking about?" I ask trying to act dumb. "Your phone is ringing." He points out. "It's not my phone it's probably the.....dolphins." I lie. He just stares at me.

"Ohhh it is my phone." I say trying to cover my tracks. "Yeah who is it?" He asks again. "It's probably my.....doctor." I lie. "You know the one I went to when I got hit by the speeder we stayed in touch." He just nods his head. I finally answer the phone. "Doctor what is it? What?!!! Your droid exploded in your house!!!!" I shout. That's when Kanan looks at me like I'm crazy.

Shadow just stays silent not knowing what to say. "Hold on one second, Kanan can I take this outside?" I ask. "Sure go ahead." He says putting his hand over his forehead. I quickly go outside the ghost. "So sorry Shadow I was with Kanan and-" She cuts me off. "I need to tell you something." She says through the phone.

"Ok what is it?" I ask her a little bit worried. "I'm....I'm being transferred." She says in a sad tone. What? "To a different academy on Lothal?" I ask hoping she says yes. But she doesn't. "I'm leaving Lothal.......tomorrow." She says. Tomorrow?!!!! I don't want her to leave. "Tomorrow? When are you coming back?" I ask her.

"I'm not coming back Ezra, I'm sorry." She says sounding like she's holding back tears. Soon I start tearing up. "Shadow.....please don't leave I already had enough people who left me I don't want another." I say starting to cry. "I'm sorry Ezra!!! I'm being forced to go!!!! If I could stay I would. I promise one day I will see you again." She says while crying.

That's when Shadow hangs up and I drop to my knees crying. I can't believe she's leaving. I found the girl in my dreams and I really loved to see her, ran away to her, and now I'm never going to see her again.

All of a sudden I feel a hand on my shoulder, Kanan. I try to hide my tears but he already takes notice. "It's ok Ezra, I'm sure the doctor will be fine without his droid." He says. At first I didn't know what he was talking about, but then I remembered my lie. "Kanan sorry but I was lying about that." I say. There is no point of hiding my connection with Shadow anymore.

"Ezra you seriously thought I bought what you said? An exploding droid?" He asks giving me a smile. "I was hoping." I say. "So who was that and the truth." He says. I sigh still upset. "It was Shadow." I say. That's when his eyes widen. "Are you crazy? She could've tracked your number." He says angry. "You did at least block the locater system right?"

Wait you could......karabast. I immediately go to my phone to settings and block it. I look back at Kanan and he gives me a look. "I was just checking if it was still blocked because I did that a long time ago." I lie. "Yeah ok, what is it that she wanted to tell you that was so important?" He asks me.

I look down staying silent for a second till I finally open up to him. "Shadow is being transferred and I'm never going to see her again." I say. Kanan sighs. "I'm sorry, I really am." He says. "It's ok you never liked her anyways so now you don't have to deal with her anymore." I say and go back inside. "Ezra wait." He says but I'm already halfway to my room.

Once I am in front of my door, I was about to go inside till Kanan grabbed my arm. "I never said I didn't like her, I just didn't trust her." He says. "Well either way she's leaving and I'm never going to see her again." I say. "Ezra don't say that." He tells me. "No Kanan I'm never going to see her again." I say again. "Ok fine your never going to see her again." He sarcastically says. "How could you say that?" I ask and walk into my room.(That was from "Good Luck Charlie" If anyone noticed)

"Come on I was being sarcastic!!!" Kanan shouts through the door. I just ignore him and take one of my helmets and go on my bed. Soon I drift off to a deep sleep.
