Chapter 15

***2 years later (After Twilight of the Apprentice)***************

Ezra's pov

"Everybody ready?" Kanan asks us. "Yes." We all say. Our supplies has been running low so we have a mission to steal from a remote imperial supply base. Ever since Kanan got blinded, he only had the force to help him see. I'm just glad he is finally doing missions with us again.

"Let's split up, Sabine and I will go get the crates, Ezra and Zeb will go make sure the coast is clear for our exit." Kanan says. We all give a nod and split up. Zeb and I start to run down a hallway when no surprise, storm troopers gain up on us. "Stop them!!!" One of them shouts.

Zeb shoots at 5 of them while running and I use my light saber to shield us. When we reach a dead end, Zeb decides to use his fists and knocks all of them out. "Well that's taken care of." I say. "I don't think so." A voice says behind us.

We turn around and see a person who is covered in black clothes and wears a helmet to hide the person's identity. "Who in karabast is that?" Zeb asks. "I'm a bounty hunter. I spend my days hunting down people like you. But let's not waste time by talking." She says and takes out her blaster and starts shooting at us.

I take my light saber and quickly deflect the shots. Zeb was shooting at her but she was fast with her dodges. Then all of a sudden one of her shots hits my foot. I scream in pain and fall to the floor. "Kid!!!" Zeb screams. While he was distracted worrying about me, the bounty hunter shoots his arm that was holding his gun and drops it.

"KARABAST!!!!" He shouts holding his wounded arm. My vision starts to become blurry and it gets really hard for me to see. I then feel someone grab me and they put their arm around my neck. "Don't take another step or I will shoot." The bounty hunter tells Zeb.

I then realize she has a gun pointed at me when I start to get my vision back. The hunter starts to step away while having me in her grasp. And without warning, she runs dragging me with her while shooting at Zeb.

She was able to hit him on his other arm, leg and chest. At that point he collapses. "Zeb!!!!" I shout and I try to get out of her lock on me. But by the time I get away from her, I'm on a different floor. I start to limp away because of my wounded foot but she quickly tackles me. And everything goes black.

Kanan's pov

When Sabine and I get all the crates, we hear a few noises down the hallway. It sounded like screams. We decide to go and check it out. Once we get to where we heard the noises, we see Zeb on the ground bleeding everywhere.

We both gasp in horror and run towards him. "Zeb can you hear me?" I ask him. "Ugh...yeah." He says in a weak tone. I sigh in relief that he is alright but my relief fades away when I realize something.

"Where's Ezra?" I ask. That's when Zeb's eyes widen and he looks around. "T-the bounty hunter took h-him." He says. Sabine and I look at each other. "I'll find him, Sabine take Zeb and the crates to the ship." I tell her. She nods and helps Zeb up and goes to the ship.

I begin to search the rest of the hallway but don't find anything. I try to sense Ezra's force signature, and it leads me to the first floor. When I look around, I see someone holding Ezra. "Stop." I say and take out my light saber.

Shadow's pov

I cannot believe those rebels were foolish enough to invade this location. I've been training for years so they have no match for me. The Empire has showed me great power and I have done nothing but embracing it.

My hunt is for Jedi, I want to be the one who kills them. Other hunters don't have the same passion to kill, those are the weak ones. I don't just want to take their life away like that, I want to see their pain first, the breaking, and the blood. I've learned to love seeing other people's blood.

When I found out the rebels were here I set out a whole plan on my own. I don't need those buckets to mess things up like they usually do. I search the halls and I find two rebels. One of them is a lasat, and the other was a young Jedi. Just what I am looking for.

I start to shoot at them. My main target is to capture the Jedi so I shot him on the foot and put him in a deadlock. There's no need to keep that smelly thing alive anymore. I first shot him on his arm, then his other arm, leg, and chest. "Zeb!!!" The Jedi shouted in my grasp.

He tries to get away from me but I soon tackle him and knock him out. So weak. When I go closer to him, I notice he looks familiar. I take his chin and move it to where I could see his face. He sorta looks like.........Ezra?

I open one of his eyelids and see his blue eyes. It is him!!! Suddenly my eyes turn from yellow back to brown. Oh no what have I done? I need to help him........wait no I need to kill him just like my orders were. I take out my blaster and aim it to his heart. But something doesn't feel right.

I can't shoot him. You have to. I can't shoot him. Do it, don't become weak. I can't do it. Do it!!!! Kill him!!! "I can't do it!!!" I shout out loud. I look down at Ezra and pick him up bridal style. I need to get him out of here.

I run to the first floor with him and before I could go outside, I hear a voice. "Stop." I turn around and see someone with something covering his eyes. He takes out his light saber. "Let him go!!!" He shouts at me. Who is this guy? He looks familiar.

I shouldn't trust him. I run out of the building with Ezra still with me. I glance behind me to see if anyone is following me, and turns out that guy still is.

I try to shoot him but he deflects all my shots. I then get trapped when I reach a cliff. The Jedi blocks my other way to escape. "Give him to me." He says. "No!!!" I shout. I can't loose Ezra again, it's been too long. That's when a ship comes on the man's side. "You have no choice we have you surrounded." He says.

There's only one thing left to do to escape. I hold on to Ezra real tight and jump off the cliff. I start to feel the wind go through me as I am falling. Without hesitation I take out my rafling hook and through it, and it hooks around the ground above us to stop us from falling.

I take a deep breath hoping the Jedi doesn't find us. While hanging, I look at Ezra holding him the best I could with one arm. He starts trembling in pain. His foot, this is all my fault. I don't know what happened to me, the Empire made me turn. I broke my promise to Kanan, I hurt Ezra.

All of a sudden I hear an explosion and see the ship fly away. The coast must be clear then.....now I just need to sneak him somewhere the Empire won't find him.

When I reach the top of the cliff, I pull Ezra up and my luck, I remember there was a cave around here. Perfect for hiding things or.....people.
