Chapter 16

Kanan's pov

"Did you find Ezra?" Sabine asks me in the med bay with Zeb. "No the bounty hunter got away with him." I say with my head down. "Oh no what do we do now?" She asks. "Well I-" I get cut off when Hera walks in.

"Zeb will be fine, his wounds should heal in a few days, he just needs plenty of rest." She says. Sabine and I both nod. Suddenly she starts to notice Ezra not being in here. "Where's Ezra?" She asks a little worried. "During the mission, a bounty hunter got him but-" Hera gasps and cuts me off again.

"What?!!! How could you let this happen?!!!" She shouts. "Don't worry I-" She cuts me off again......again. "Don't worry? Bounty hunters are known for killing. How are we going to find him?" She asks. "With my tracking device." I finally say. She just punches me in the shoulder. "Why didn't you tell me that before?" She asks in a mad tone.

"Because you kept cutting me off!!!" I shout at her. "Ladies come down, you do realize Zeb is trying to rest and you are yelling." She says. "Sorry." Hera and I say at the same time. "Let's leave him here so he could rest and try to find his location." I say and we all walk out of the med bay.

Sabine quickly does her magic and tracks down Ezra's signal. "It looks like he's on the same planet we lost him but in a hidden hideout." She says. "Then let's get going." Hera says and we immediately jump into hiber space.

Ezra's pov

I wake up in a blanket on the ground with a major pain on my foot. Where am I? I look around and see the bounty hunter who was at the imperial supply base. I flinch in fear and try to move but get even more pain.

"It's ok Ezra, your foot still needs to heal." She says. Wait she knows my name? "How do you know my name?" I ask her. She comes closer to me. "You told me your name remember? It's me.....Shadow." She says. I gasp. Shadow?!?!?!

"How did you......why did you....." I say still shocked. "Let me explain but it could take a while." She says. "I got time." I say with a smile. She smiles back. "I went to a hunting academy and I don't know what happened but I completely changed there, not in a good way. I got so addicted in hunting and killing. The worst part is I hurt you, Ezra I was going to kill you. What happened to me?" She says feeling guilt.

I just looked at her. "That's what happens to some people, they get persuaded by the Empire and forget about everything they fought for or loved." I say. "I just can't believe that happened to me." She says. "Well your out of it now and that's all that matters." I say. "Yeah your right." She says.

"We haven't seen each other in a long time." I say. She gives a little laugh. "Yeah I had less black clothes and more white and you cut your hair." She says. "Yeah I just wanted to do something different, Kanan was totally on my side with my new look." I say. "Oh yeah Kanan how is he?" She asks.

Shadow doesn't know what happened to him, oh man. "He is now blind." I say and put my head down. She puts her hand over her mouth. "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry." She says. "It's ok he is getting better now and usually wears this thing over his eyes to keep him more focused." I say.

Shadow then gasps. "What?" I ask her. "I didn't know that was Kanan." She says. "What do you mean Shadow?" I ask her getting worried. "When you were unconscious, Kanan tried to get you from me but I refused and brought you here." She says.

"What?!?!?" I scream. "I have to get back before-" I try to stand up but wince in pain. Why do I keep forgetting my wounded foot?!!!! "Sorry Ezra I really am, your foot should heal in a few hours, I'll give you a pain killer but you have to eat something before having it." She says and hand me a type of food and cup of water. I eat it so I could take the pain killer as quickly as possible. Shadow then puts the pain killer in the cup and I drink it all down in one sip.

"How am I suppose to get to my friends now?" I ask her. "I don't know, maybe you should try to send them a signal or something." She says. "We would have to go to a cell tower which the Empire destroyed." I say. All of a sudden I feel extremely hot. I then start to cough for a few minutes.

"Woah are you ok?" Shadow asks me really worried. I start to have trouble breathing. "Ezra what's happening?!!" She shouts. "I-I don't k-know." I gasp trying to speak. Shadow puts her hand on my forehead. "Your burning up, are you allergic to something?" She asks me. "O-Only n-n-nuts." I try my best to say.

She takes out a container with a label of ingredients. "Oh no, the food I gave you has nuts." She says. Then everything around me goes dark and I fade into darkness.

Shadow's pov

"Ezra? Ezra?!!!" I shout shaking him to wake up. He is breathing heavily and is getting extremely pale. What do I do?!! Take this chance to kill him. No!!! I need to save him. I search my backpack desperately looking for medicine. Nothing.

I start to cry. I gently put Ezra on my lap and hug him very tight. Please don't die on me. All of a sudden I see a ship land outside the cave we are in. That looks like the ship I saw before. That's his friends! The Jedi comes out first and then a mandalorian girl follows him.

They could help me!!! I carry Ezra outside and run to them. When he sees me he takes out his light saber. "Fight me later but right now you need to help him." I say. "Give him to me." He says. I hand Ezra to him. "What did you do to him?" He asks me in anger. "He had an allergic reaction but you need to help him." I say.

"We will, let's get him in the med bay." He says to the girl and they both head to the ship. I wanted to go with them and make sure he would be alright but I knew they wouldn't trust me. Instead I take out one of my tracking devices and throw it on the ship, and it flies away.

I just found someone I cared about a long time ago, I'm not ready to lose him.
