CHAPTER 1:
Power Outage
George Washington High School/High school gym/ Washington Heights N.Y.C: February 2nd, 2014: 7:30 PM
Comic-a-Thon!
The annual convention where comic book geeks and fans would get together, where comics both old and new would be on display or would be bought by the conventions attendees, where cosplay would run rampant.
This was an event that Silicon had looked forward to every time it came to Las Vegas which was only about an hour's drive away from his home in Nevada, and now that it had come here to New York he just had to go and attend.
He was originally going to go by himself, but to his surprise and glee, two of his legion friends decided to accompany him to this event.
Robo-Warrior and Velocity.
So now here they were in the main gym of the high school, enjoying the event.
Well, Silicon and Robo-Warrior/Andrew Griffin were enjoying the event, Velocity just joined them to check out the female cosplay dressers...and hopefully score a date with one of them if he was lucky.
It wasn't hard to blend in among the crowds of people dressed up as individually different characters from different comic book franchisees or video games, especially when they were currently attending said even in "Costume" themselves.
The three of them had come under the guise of their usual selves in the Heroes legion, with a few adjustments.
Silicon had painted himself on the face and hands to look like his liquid metal form, while Velocity just wore his usual getup with the leather jacket and the face mask with a gold lightning bolt on the forehead section.
Robo-Warrior and his power suit was easy to pass off as a costume if you could believe it, so long as Cyber-29 didn't speak out through the suit for whatever reason.
So If anyone asked about their clothes in recognition to the very vague photos and videos of the "Vigilantes of New York" as the Heroes Legion were referred to as by the city's public, they'd just "admit" that they based their "Costumes" of what they could manage to re-create of the "Vigilantes of New York" from the hazy video footage of "the ones they decided to dress up as"...and so far that ruse had worked.
And as long as they didn't use their powers, it would stay that way.
"Thanks for coming, Andrew" Silicon said to his friend, who was currently wearing his new Robo-Warrior suit beside him as they looked through the displays that were on show of different comic book art, models, figures and sculptures.
"It was no problem..." Andrew Griffin's voice said through the electronic voice disruption speaker of the Robo-Warrior suits helmet section, "besides, after being back on the team I've only been outside of the mansion for school days only...and the fact that the usual Vigilante/Heroes Legion work we do on the side has been on the wane for the past few weeks since we trounced Spellbinder I needed to get out. Besides, this is the best place where I can both show off the new suit and not have anyone ask any questions"
