Time's Square, Lower Manhattan: February 19th, 2014: 11:00 PM
Beatrice Fuller felt terrible.
Her head was pounding, and her chest ached for some reason...almost like she had been drinking hard and was currently recovering from a hangover again.
But as her eyes stopped blurring and she started taking in her surroundings, she started to sober up really fast.
She was looking down at the middle of Times Square several stories bellow her.
Her eyes shot wide open and she exclaimed in fright, her first instinct was to flail her arms in order to grab something to keep herself from falling.
Only to find when she did that she couldn't move her arms, in fact they were pinned to her sides for some reason.
She looked down to see that her midsection was "glued" to one of the light poles on top of the Toshiba Jumbo Tron sign she now found herself standing upon...with some kind of silver looking substance.
She then noticed that she wasn't alone here on the top of the One Times Square Building.
There were the City officials, the mayor, The City Judge, The Governor of New York...they were all plastered to the other lights like she was by the same silver substance.
Only unlike her, they were all gagged by gags made out of the same silver substance that was keeping her bound to the light fixture.
Before she could even begin to think about what was going on, Legion suddenly appeared beneath her down on the jumbo Tron's maintenance catwalk.
He had a sinister smile on his face as he looked up at Beatrice Fuller.
"Didn't your mother ever tell you the story of the Boy/Girl who cried wolf?" Legion asked, "Apparently not. I've done some digging of my own Beatrice, you've "Called wolf" a few times during your career when it suited you. But now, just like in the tale...the wolf has come to finish the tale and deliver an Aesop. And that Aesop is "Never Slander a Superhuman with no qualms about taking revenge."
"Is that what this is all about?" Beatrice Fuller asked in disbelief, "You cheated me! You're going to kill me for telling the world what kind of person you really are?"
"No" Legion smirked, and then with a few " magical mumbo-Jumbo" words that Beatrice Fuller didn't understand at all and weren't even sure were even real words, Legion transformed into the demonic villain he had masqueraded as earlier as when he kidnapped Beatrice Fuller back at Channel 5 News, "the diabolical Mr. Elite is going to kill you. While the heroic "Legion" who has been missing these few weeks due to Mr. Elite chasing him away and stealing his life, upon seeing that his Archenemy has just murdered an innocent reporter woman who was taken advantage off by Mr. Elite will come here to fight him to both clear his name and avenge your death. But unfortunately, some of you won't survive either. Nothing personal, but with the lie this woman spun, I must make an even more convincing lie to counter the negative effects it had on all of my celebrity level popularity I once had. And the only way to convince people that this is what really happened..." Legion turned himself back into his real self before his hostages eyes, "is to eliminate any witness's."
"Oh that's classic" Beatrice Fuller said rolling her eyes, "there's just one problem with your evil plan. Nobody can be in two places at the same time."
"Except for me" Legion bragged, and then before his hostage's eyes...he "Split" in two of himself, one flesh and blood and one that seemed to actually be made of living darkness or shadow.
