Hey guys! Sorry it has taken me so long to update! My computer died about a month ago and I lost a good majority of my stories. I am just now getting myself back together. Here is the chapter enjoy!

Alice

"I fixed up her head, we are lucky she didn't sustain more damage from the fall." I came to and was temporarily blinded by a harsh lamp.

"Alice! You're alright!" Ruby blocked the light with her long curtain of hair and smiled down at me. I winced as I reached for my head.

"Don't touch it. The stitches will need time to heal." Victor was sitting on the couch beside me, giving me a worried look. "Thank you Victor." Ruby said softly, taking his hand. He cleared his throat and stood. "I'll call tomorrow and check on her."

"Thank you."

I glanced around the large room that sported a piano and a beautiful fireplace. A room I somewhat recognized. "Where am I?" "You're here at Jefferson's. He is upstairs." Emma appeared, looking frazzled.

"You gave us quite a scare there Alice." she said, her voice sharp. "I'm sorry...it's just all so much." I began to filter the information I had been given.

She had found me. The devil woman-Cruella. That still did not explain the light and the picture in Henry's book, but I hoped more answers would come through my muddled mind. "It's alright. You are safe here. I'll have some people talking to Cruella to get a full story." Emma said confidently, though I could tell she was worried.

"For now, why don't you rest?" Ruby suggested as footsteps descended the stairs. "N-No I can't stay here-." "It's fine. Jefferson has a place for you." Ruby said, her eyes flashing that sneaky smile I loved so much. I nodded and she helped me stand.

"Emma I'll call you tomorrow." Ruby said as Emma went for the door. Ruby pulled me up to stand. "Jefferson why don't you make her some tea and I'll get her comfortable upstairs."

I was still in my dress. The fabric was cold and heavy as Ruby helped me up the stairs and to my right. She opened a door and then proceeded to help me out of my ruined clothes and into a shirt.

"Is this his?" I asked softly. She smiled. "Yep." I took in the soft scent of the dark fabric as she pulled down the covers and pushed me into the bed. After I was comfortable, she started towards the door.

"Ruby! Where are you going?" She giggled. "Uh, home. I'm beat." "You can't leave me here...with him." I added softly, my heart fluttering. "Toodles!" she called, exiting the room before I could say another word.

I was left in silence to take in the room. It was bland but warm and comfortable. I jumped when a soft knock sounded at the door.

"Come in." I said softly. Jefferson appeared with a tray and the scent of tea filled the room. He placed the tray on the nightstand and proceeded to pour me a cup. "How are you feeling?"

"Well, I've felt better." I said, taking a whiff of the steam that rose from my cup. "Earl Grey?"

"Yes, Grace remembered that you liked it so she had me buy some for her next party...now she insists she have a cup every day." he said softly, taking his own cup and placing himself in a chair that was across the room.

"Jefferson?" "Hm?" he said, caught in mid-sip. "Earlier-." I glanced to the bedside clock and saw that it was almost midnight. "-You went to ask me something. At the ball...what was it?"

He dropped his eyes and consulted his teacup. I did the same and took a few hearty sips before he finally replied.

"I was going to ask if you remembered me." My brows furrowed as I watched him intently. "Remembered you? But I just met you less than a month ago." He sighed and scrubbed a hand down his face.
