*Yuuri

We sat huddled on the couch as thousands of digital faces filled our TV, watching the big clock in the town center slowly start to drop down to the last three minutes of 2016.

Viktor was slowly massaging my hips and lower back, making me lean into his touch slightly, savoring the warmth from under the blanket we used to block out the cold of the living room.

"Yuuri," Viktor whispered into my hair, "I'm so glad I met you." I smiled warmly and looked up at him; his bright eyes were dimmed with exhaustion. Slowly, I leaned up and lazily kissed the corner of his mouth.

"I'm glad I met me too, Viktor," I whispered into his ear, making him chuckle slowly.

He suddenly sat up and yawned, making the blanket tumble to the ground and the chilled air to nip and my bare back and stomach. I yelped quietly and tried to grab the blanket, but was quickly stopped as Viktor's warm arms wrapped securely around my stomach. I let out a relieved sigh at the gained comfort and climbed into his lap, wrapping myself around him like a koala. He smiled down at me and said, "The new year is taking too long to get here. Can't we just make out now?" I shook my head no into his chest and he groaned and fell backwards against the couch, causing me to go with him. My body didn't even flinch as I laid on top of Viktor, my body still wrapped around him and my head on his chest, which was covered by a very warm grey sweatshirt.

I sat up after my torso was warmed up, straddling Viktor. "How did I ever get you to come here?" I asked, "How did I ever get you to fall in love with me?"

A warm smile filled his features as the man looked up at me, running his fingers up and down my sides. "I've always been in love with you, Yuuri. How could I have gotten you to fall in love with me, is the real question."

I took his hands in mine, rolling my thumb across the gold ring that sat on his finger, glinting from the light that fled in through the TV. "How is it possible to not fall in love with the Viktor Nikiforov?" I asked, grinning slightly at him. He visibly cringed, and I laughed and said, "But really. I fell in love with you the first moment you looked me in the eye, Vitya. You're everything I've ever wanted." Suddenly, the TV filled the small silence in between us.

"3!"

"And you're everything I'll ever want."

"2!"

"I love you," we both say.

"1!"

"Happy new year," he whispers, and grabs my hand that was on his, causing me to fall into his kiss. I smile against his lips and press my forehead against his as he pulls my waist closer to him. I can hear fireworks out in the distance of the city, but it is quickly faded out as Viktor grips me a little tighter- and then all I can hear is us.

Happy 2017! This was a super short chapter as my PC is currently at 6%. Hope you all had a great one!!!!

Should I start writing shorter chapters like this one?
