One Percent

Chapter 5

We all fear monsters... but would you fear something humane...

About 2 weeks have passed since the accident and the campus returned normal. All the students involved in the kidnapping were set to questioning. It even resulted to the court with the school being able to represent and me being the witness.

As most people expected, we won where Big Willy was locked up for 3 years in abuse and torture with kidnapping cases. He was about 22 so it means he is legal. The subordinates are then sent to jail as well but only a year. It varies really. Some are longer and some are shorter but I assure you, at least a year would be peaceful.

I sat along with some of my classmates and some of Hal's. He sat across me with all the laughter. We were taking lunch with a bit of drama here and there.

"Hey Fenuir. Dont you think Hal and Sarah would make a great couple?" A girl with black and short hair said beside me. The others nodded in ber words as Hal became a bit flustered.

"Not really Cristine" i whispered

"Hmm? What did you say?" She asked again

"I mean... what do you think Hal" I look at hall, making him choke a bit. I am sorry. Will buy you a burger later.

"Umm... I... dont really like her. Haha.." he rubbed the back of his head.

"Oh come one bro! Everyone here knows you two are like a couple" a guy with a hat and tanned skin commented named Lenard

"Yeah. I mean the only people that havent told their crushes here are you and... " the pretty blond girl said with a smirk cutting herself off, whose name is Fey

"Fenuir" the man wih his arm over Fey finished with a smirk. He looks muscular and is actually the QB of our campus. His is named Jasper

"Uhh..." I stare at them like I was trapped in a corner

"Tell us Fen!" Cristine urged. I looked over at Hal, avoiding making eye contact with me. Thanks a lot Hal. That burger is gone.

"I... uhh... well..." my face was flushed and red. I can tell they want answers nowas their eyes stare deep into mine.

Luckily, the bell rang as I quickly stood up

"Well thats the bell. Gotta gonto class. See ya guys" I bid them farewell as I walked to the exit. My heartbeat slowed and color returned to my face.

"Fen. Wait up" I turned to see Hal running to me. Whn he reached me, he was panting a bit. Be really needs to do excercise but, somehow chubby looks good on him.

"Whats wrong Hal?" I asked

"We have the same class remember? Dummy" he then playfully punched my shoulder. I just laughed a bit as I pet his red hair.

"Well, lets go"

The next class was going to be chemistry. I was set and partnered with Hal for the rest of the term. Of course, the professor is Rino, but I refer to him as Mr. Daltio in the class.

"Now, we are going to make bacteria glow around us. Turn your books to page 74 and please follow the excercise." He commented

We messed up a bit makig a concauction that would make anything it touch glow. It made the bacteria glow much brighter but so is the plate. Rino was behind us as he facepalmed himself but in the end laughed.

"Guys, you did the experiment before the one I told you and that was harder" he commented "but still, well done." He patted my shoulders before going to the rest of the students

"Seems like we messed up a bit" Hal laughed

"Well, what can we do?" I said as I stare at the ground. "Anyway, what do you plan on doing later"
