These Risks We Take (Alec volturi love)

Chasers

Alec had been carrying me for about an hour and I was still losing blood. My family had been following us for about thirty minutes, along with the other volturi members. Carlisle had sped up to match Alec's speed. Alec turned his head to look at Carlisle. "Carlisle, she's losing a lot of blood and I don't know how much more of this she can take."

"The chasers are still on our tail. We can either face them or find a place for her to hide." Carlisle replied. "If we hide her I can assure her safety, but if we face them she'll be safe in the end. Although, she may be in danger now."

Alec looked at me in his arms. "Tell me what to do."

"I'm tired of running."I told him. He nodded to me and turned back to Carlisle.

"We'll be fighting today." He said. Alec slowed his running and finally stopped. He placed me on my good leg and held my arm to keep me balanced. For a strange reason, I wasn't afraid. When I stood next to him I couldn't fear anything. Even when the chasers eventually caught up I wasn't afraid. Carlisle and the others went into the surrounding forest to hide for the element of surprise. Jane had tried to persuade Alec to leave, but nothing could change his mind. So, Jane and the other volturi members went back to the Cullen's house.

"So, Lilla. Have you finally excepted your fate?" A large man with very short blond hair asked me.

"You have to choices," Alec ignored the man completely. "One you leave and never come after Lilla again or you die. Make your choice."

The chasers chuckled at Alec. "Please, we all know how much you want to sink you demonic teeth into the little witches skin. I mean, I'm surprised you lasted this long." He laughed at his own comment.

"I'm not a witch." I stated drowsily. My head was spinning and I was sweating like crazy. The only reason I was still stand was because I didn't want to let go of Alec's soft skin that sent chills through my body.

"Well, kid. I suggest you move, because we aren't leaving until we kill that girl." The large man took a step toward us, which was a mistake on his part. Emmett jumped down from the branch he was hiding in above us and landed right in between the man and Alec. Everyone else started to come out from their hiding places.

"I suggest that you leave while you can. It's quite obvious that strength wise, we have you outnumbered." Emmett told him while he flexed his muscles. The blonde man turned slightly, as if he were leaving, but then turned back around and punched Emmett. Emmett wasn't fazed by this. But then all hell broke lose and all of the chasers were dragged out of my sight by different members of my family, while Alec stayed behind and kept his guard up.

Can you hear me? I asked Alec mentally.
Yes. He replied.
I don't feel very good right now. I told him.
I know.  I'm sorry, I'll try to get you out of here as soon as possible. Then you'll never have this anxiety of the chasers ever again. He attempted to reassure me.
No, that's not it. I tried to explain to him.

One of the chasers escaped my family and was headed right for us, but ran right past. They're leaving.

What do you mean? He finally said. But before I could reply, my knees gave out and my vision blurred. I was lying on the ground when Carlisle and the others made it back. "What happened?"

"I don't know. She just said she didn't feel good." Alec explained. I could feel Carlisle doing something to my leg. I squeaked in pain.

"I swear, if you hurt her-" Edward was cut off by Alec.

"Why would I do that?"

"She's lost too much blood. We need to get her back to the house." Carlisle replied. Everything was going dark.

"I can't carry her anymore." Alec said quickly. "The smell of her b-blood. I'm starting to lose control. I don't know what it is, but her blood- ... it's different. I feel like it's-... it's like it's calling me and- I need to go." I hear a wisp and feel a slight breeze that smells of Alec.

"Edward can you get Lilla?" I hear Carlisle ask. Edward must have nodded or something, because I was suddenly lifted off of the ground. This was the last thing I remember before passing out.
