It had been three and a half weeks since Alec left. I started to become giddy with excitement. My boyfriend was coming in three days and I knew it. I was planning on having us go on a picnic when he got back. I mean, obviously we wouldn't eat anything, but I still considered it a picnic.
Alec had kept his promise and had sent me a letter every day. Of course they came quite late, so that made it a little more difficult but it was okay. I did really mind it. I was just happy to hear from him.
I trotted down the hall to the kitchen. I knew there would be a letter waiting for me. There always was. I walked in and plopped down on the seat at the island table. Esme was painting. "Soooooo?" I asked.
She turned to me with a sad face. "There wasn't a letter today. I'm not sure why." She told me. I hunched down with sadness. I bet she thought I looked like a sad flower. "It probably is jumbled up at the post office. Maybe it'll come tomorrow." I looked up at her.
"You're probably right." I sighed. "Well, is it okay if I paint something?" I asked her. She smiled at me.
"Of course, here." She answered, handing me painting supplies. I spent most of the day with Esme. I didn't have a letter to read or to write. So, I was basically waiting for tomorrow.
By the next day I was speed walking to get to the kitchen and my letter. But when I had gotten there, a letter wasn't to be found. This went on for four days and by the last day I was practically running down the halls.
"Lilla, he's probably just too busy to write." Carlisle told me. I knew that he was wrong.
"No, he promised to write everyday." I turned to Edward. "Edward, if you made that promise to Bella could you ever break it? Even if you were busy?" I asked.
"No, I would demand time to write to her." He told me. I turned back to Carlisle.
"I'm calling him." I told everyone. I pull out my phone before anyone could protest. It rang and continued to ring until it went to voicemail. "He didn't answer." I started to pace. " I'm calling Jane." Once again telling everyone. It rang only once before she answered.
"Lilla?" She answered.
"Jane, is Alec there?" I asked urgently.
"You're gonna be mad." She told me. I stopped pacing and turned to look at Carlisle.
"What do you mean, I'm going to be mad?" I asked her.
"I was going to tell you earlier, but I had so much hope that I didn't want you to get involved." She stalled.
"Jane, what's going on?" I asked sternly.
"Alec's missing. He's. Been missing for a week now." She finally said. I was so shocked I couldn't respond. "Him and Dimitri were sent out to find Felix and they never came back." The name Felix snapped me out of my shock.
"I'm on my way." I said. I took the phone off my ear and cut off Jane's protests with a beep of the call ending.
"What's wrong?" Carlisle asked me.
"Alec's missing, I'm going to help find him." I told him.
"We're coming with you." Alice said from the. Corner. Everyone turned to her in shock. "I had a vision while you were on the phone. Everyone goes except Jacob and renesmee."
"Okay, then everyone needs to start packing while I call a friend who could help us out." I tell them. They all seem shocked. "What? I know a guy who can get us on a plane." At that they all jumped out of their seats and went off to their separate rooms. I'm so lucky to have a family like them.
