When the bell rang I sighed, and walked into Mr. Hall's room, with my chin held up bravely. I didn't want him to see me like thi-

"Aghhh"

I bumped into something, I mean someone. I apologetically looked down.

"Oh my gosh....Im sorry....Im not my self today....."

"....I can see that..."

I looked up to see Mr. Hall smirking at me. I gasped, taking a small step back. It was actually the opposite direction I truly wanted to head in.

"Are you okay? You look....."

"Different, I know. Im just tired....and why do you care?" I huffed, adjusting my bag on my shoulder.

"I care because-"

The bell rang, cutting him off mid-sentence. I took the opportunity to head into class, hiding my face with my hair. I didn't know if I was blushing or not; but my appearance made the girls, and some guys in the room talk.

I sat at my desk, not bothering with the classwork and laid my head on the table. To my relief, Mr. Hall didn't call on me at all during class.

I could feel people looking at me incredulously, wondering how I wasn't getting in trouble. I honestly didn't know why.

But by that point, I really didn't care.

As the day passed, I slipped even more into my nonchalant mindset. I began to stop caring about everything, doing the bare minimum to get by. I was always tired....... Soon it became more evident that I had changed. But I had no idea why.

As I started to care less, people began to pay more attention to me. They were curious about my new behavior.

"...Persephone? Persephone!"

".......Huh...."

The voice snapped me out of my thoughts. It was Mr.Hall, and he amusedly looked at me.

"Get this signed."

He handed me a paper, and I looked up at him in confusion. He sighed.

"You know, last week's test?"

I unfolded the paper, and my heart stopped.

There was a D written in red ink, up on the top corner of the page. The paper was littered with corrections, and the more I looked at it, the worse I felt. I never got a D before. Hell, I never received a grade lower than a B plus.

"Mr. Hall....there has to be a way for me to make this up-"

"I suggest getting a tutor." he said, walking back to his desk.

A tutor? I've never even thought of getting one before. I never needed help, let alone wanted it.

When I got home from school, I was in for a surprise. My parents were home, BOTH of them at the same time. That was a rare occurrence. My mother held the cordless phone in her hand, while my father gave me a disappointed look.

"We got a call from Mr. Hall." my father proceeded to say.

"You got a D on a test? What has gotten into you Persephone?! You're an all A student!" My mother interjected.

"......" I didn't answer, and I looked at the floor, holding back tears. There was a long silence, and my mother sharply exhaled.

"We're getting you a tutor." My mother proclaimed.

"What?! No, I can make up the grade!"

"We've already decided, Mr. Hall will tutor you after school everyday until you bring that grade up."

"M-M-Mr.Hall?!"

"Since You're only having trouble in his class, he'll be able to help you with the material."

"You don't understand! I know the material!! I just......"

"What?"

I couldn't tell them that his Algebra class was impossible to focus in, all because of the damn instructor.

Mr.Hall + Persephone + Persephone's house - Persephone's parents = A disaster waiting to happen. ;)
