"Dammit!! Why would you guys all affect her?!"

"We're just doing our jobs." a woman snarkily replied.

"Had it ever crossed your mind that she could be-"

"If you want to live, don't finish that sentence......."

Voices flooded in my mind, some speaking in calm tones while others seemed to hold back rage. Soon, all of them were speaking at once, getting louder and louder. I couldn't see anything.....I couldn't even recognize the voices anymore. They all blended into the same monotone. My head had an echoing pain at the temples, it seemed to grow worse with each of my heartbeats.

".....WOULD YOU ALL JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP?!" I shouted.

The voices immediately stopped, and I sighed as my headache started to subside. My vision slowly returned and I blinked.

".......What the hell.....?"

I was in my classroom. All the students were staring at me with shocked expressions and wide eyes, while Ms. Lloyd stood at the whiteboard with a surprised look.

"Ah...thank you for telling the class to quiet down, Persephone." She coughed and returned to writing on the board.

How in the hell did I get to school? I was fully clothed, my hair was brushed and I even had my messenger bag with me. The last time I checked, it was yesterday!  And I was passed out on the floor in my room!

The bell rang, jolting me out of my thoughts. I slowly rose from my seat, ignoring the whispers of others as they passed.

"Persephone? Are you alright?"

"What? Oh, hi Ms. Lloyd." I replied, not acknowledging her question.

"Some of your teachers were speaking with me.... they said you weren't yourself at all today. It was like you weren't even present in class."

She was right, even though I was there....I really wasn't.

Walking  out of the classroom, I made my way down the hall in a daze. The whole day has been wasted, I had no idea what happened during the time I wasn't.... there. I was nervous to find out.

I blinked, noticing Jade walking down the hall. She wasn't using her crutches anymore, but her ankle was still in a cast. Jade looked up and locked eyes with me. She didn't look as cold as before, but she still didn't look happy to see me. I hesitated and lightly jogged to catch up with her.

"Jade....."

She didn't respond, keeping her gaze down the hall as she walked. I sighed, glancing away.

"I know you're upset but-"

"Upset?" She stopped walking, turning to face me.

"I'm beyond upset. You were supposed to be my friend. Friends don't break their friend's ankle and leave them on the curb!"

"I can explain that...."

"How could you possibly explain?" She folded her arms, looking at me.

"Mr. Hall-"

"Mr. Hall. You're blaming something you did, on him? Do you expect me to believe that he somehow had something to do-"

"Jade. Listen to me!" I snapped, interrupting her. Jade looked surprised, but soon regained her composure.

"Fine."

"Have you noticed I've changed?" I asked.

"Yeah. A lot. So what?"
