As we were sitting there eating, which lasted an excruciatingly long time, Ariel made rude comments about some of the people who were walking around while Katie simply giggled a little and occasionally glanced at me to make sure I was still stable. They didn't really try to make conversation with me much. I didn't know if it was because they were being considerate of my wrist getting a cramp or if they genuinely didn't care what I had to say… Well write. Honestly, I didn't mind too much because what I was really focused on was them eating. I was so jealous of them. I was jealous that they could eat whatever and whenever and not have to worry about gaining five pounds with each bite. I was jealous that they weren't embarrassed to get up and getting another serving of whatever. I was jealous that they didn't have to go through the daily struggle of worrying what people thought of them whenever they ate. I was jealous that… that they were confident. That's something that I longed for. Just having the state of mind that allows me to be comfortable with everything that I do. Being able to…

"Hey Shelby!"

When I looked up from my fiddling thumbs, I saw two rugged looking guys staring at me, hand-in-hand, with crooked grins.

I stared at them with wide eyes and my eye brows to the edge of my forehead not expecting to see them in here. More so not wanting to see them in here so I didn't know what my next move was gonna be. On the other hand, Ariel and Katie, but mostly Ariel, was staring at them with their mouths forming a perfect "O".

"Mind if we join you ladies?"

The way Zayn's British and Pakistanian accent swirled together sounded like angels singing the perfect harmony in the heavens. So smooth and melodious. It was enough to send Ariel through a whirlwind of emotions from what I was witnessing at this very moment. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to side track the thought that immediately approached my mind. They're gonna notice that I don't have any food in front of me and they're gonna ask me of I've eaten. And when one of my two roommates tell them that I haven't, they're gonna force me to. Shit! I really don't wanna have to go through this right now. I just spilled my guts only about two and a half hours ago and now I'm gonna have to do it again. It's gonna hurt even more because I can't just eat and leave to throw it back up. It's gonna have to settle.

Katie was the first to speak up and scoot closer to me granting to the two rough looking boys permission to sit with us.

"Hello love. How's your day been so far?"

As they took their seats next to each other and Liam on Katie's side, I looked up at Liam feebly then back down at my own hands and simply shook my head. And from the corners of my eyes I noticed Ariel and Katie looking at each other kind of worried and confused and I had no idea why.

"Um excuse me. I'm not sure how you know her or if you really know her at all but, she doesn't talk."

Ariel's tone was calm but assertive and by the looks on Zayn and Liam's faces it was clear that they understood it. I, on the other hand, was a little stuck. I mean like, of course I understand why she told them that, and if I didn't already know them I would've greatly appreciated it, but what I don't understand is why she said it like that. It was almost as if she was being… defensive of me. I don't know maybe I'm just over analyzing that.

Both Zayn and Liam looked at me with their eyebrows reaching the top of their foreheads and goofy grins on their faces with small chuckles in their throats. I wasn't too embarrassed by that but that still didn't allow me to smile back at them. Although I did spare them a slight lift of the corner my my mouth.

"Well it's nice to know that we're not the only people looking after you."

At this point I was starting to feel kind of awkward because it was quite apparent that Katie and Ariel were flattered by that statement, especially Katie. She smiled at the two boys shyly then turned to me and rubbed my hand.
