Miranda's pov

I walk downstairs, tired from staying up all night in excitement. It's my birthday today. My moms always go all out for my birthday. Mama Alexandria says it's because they're so lucky to have me. I skip downstairs. I call Mama Ruth-Anne mom and mama Alexandria mama. Mom was at the stove cooking waffles and bacon. My favorite! "Happy birthday!" She says, hugging me. "Thanks mom. I love you." "I love you too, sweety." She goes back to cooking. My mind wandering. I'm nervous. Today I plan on asking them for something I've wanted for a long time. To meet my father. Which they know who he is but he doesn't know I exist. Mom and mama just picked a random jar with a name on it. Mom puts a plate in front of me. I smile and dig in.

Alexandria's pov

"So Miranda, what do you want for your birthday?" I ask sitting beside her on the couch. She bites her lip. Huh? "Guys I only want one thing and I know you're gonna worry." "What is it? You can tell us anything, you know that right?" Ruth-Anne asks, holding her hand. "I wanna meet my dad."

"See y'all next week!" I call waving to the bartender. I head home. "Honey I'm home." I laugh to myself. I am a proud bachelor. No worries. No responsibilities. Just living free and doing whatever I want. I check the mail and put a turkey pot pie in the oven. There's a handwritten letter. It's probably a fan but then again how'd they get my address? I open it. "Dear Jason, my name is Ruth-Anne. I'm a lesbian and am married to my wife Alexandria. We did artificial insemination to have our daughter. Sixteen years later, for her birthday she wants to meet her father. You are her father." Oh. My. God. There's an address and phone number. I have a daughter?! "I didn't ask for this!!!" I instantly call the number. "You better not be asking for child support or something like that!" "Who is this?" "According to a letter I just got I'm the father of some girl!" Silence. "Hello?!" "Oh um I'm sorry. No I promise it isn't anything like that. She just wanted to meet you. It was her birthday wish and the hospital gave us your information. I understand if you don't. We don't want money or anything. We just want to make our daughter's birthday wish come true." Ugh. "Fine. Man I can't believe I have a daughter."

*one flight later*

Miranda's pov

Mom calls my name. Me and my best friend Sierra were styling our hair for the party tonight. "Coming mom!" I call. Sierra finished curling my hair and we ran downstairs.

So much for no responsibilities. Now I've got a daughter that I never knew existed. Me and Alexandria were driving back from the airport. "I'm not looking forward to this." I mutter. "You and me both." She says. We get to their house. But she locks the car doors. "What are you doing?" "You have to know something." Shit. Was all this bullshit?! "Miranda means the world to us. We only want to make her happy. She's bullied a lot for having two moms. I'm sorry we dragged you into this but she wants to meet you." "It's okay. I'm not happy about it but I can try."

Miranda's pov

Mom was asking about stuff for the party when mama came home along with a man. My eyes go wide. "Is... Is that-" "Miranda meet your dad."Mama says, nervously.
