Chapter 4

Mirandas pov

I hide behind dad, shocked. "What are you doing, princess?" He asks laughing. "Th-That's L-Luke Bryan!" I gasp pointing. "Hey Luke!" He calls. "Ahh! Don't do that!" I squeal.

Jason's pov

Cute. Luke waves and walks over. "Hey Luke apparently my daughter is a fan of you." He laughs. "Aw so this is your daughter." He says, smiling. She waves shyly. "H-Hey Luke." He does the usual fan thing. "Hey man, I'm throwin' a bonfire this afternoon. Ya comin'?" "I dunno dude, I've got her." I whisper pointing. "I wanna go." "I don't know if your moms'll let me. And Alexandria already doesn't like me." "It'll be fine! Please!" She begs. I smile. I can't resist her cuteness. "Ok." "Yay! Thanks dad!"

*later*

Miranda's pov

This party is getting out of hand. I better find dad. I find him talking to Eric Church. I pull his sleeve. "Daddy, everyone is getting wild." He laughs. "Darlin' this ain't wild yet. We're just gettin' started." He lifts me up and puts me on a tailgate. "Stay up there." He walks toward a mic stand. "What are you doing?! Dad!" I call. He keeps walking. He starts to sing Luke's song all my friends say. He laughs when Luke walks onstage. "Hey little girl who are you?" I spin around. Some guy who was barely able to stand stood there with a beer can in his hand. "Um go away." I say.

Jason's pov

Luke nudged my shoulder. "Dude, look." I look where he's pointing and instant anger flares up inside me. "Derek, get your damn hands away from her!" I yelp, walking over. "Jeez man, isn't she a little young for you." He drunkenly slurs. I fight back punching him. "You prick, she's my daughter! Back off!" He puts his hands up in mock surrender and backs away. "You okay, sweetheart?" "C-Can we go home, dad?" I nod and help her down. We go back home and she calls one of her moms. "Sorry about what happened. Can we uh keep that uh just between us?" I ask, rubbing my neck worried. She smiles and holds up a fist. "We're cool." I smile and knuckle touch. She laughs. "I'm sure glad to have a daughter." "I love you too dad." She says hugging me.
