Chapter 1

Lin's POV
Walking towards the Richard Rogers Theater, I was going over the plan for today. Yet another 8 hours of rehearsals for my newest musical Hamilton. 'In the Heights' was a big hit in its day and I knew this had to meet a critic's expectations as well.

The cast is brilliant, and everyone is super friendly and welcoming. We already seem like a family. Especially Jas and Ant I think to myself. They started seeing each other a bit recently and they are so shippable.

I am 36 with a wife, Vanessa and my son Sebastian. We have a little apartment with a great view--just like the set of "In the Heights". My mind wanders as I continue to walk to the theater.

The crowd of fans swarm me as I attempt to get to the stage door. "What great fans" I think to myself. It is 7:24 when I walk in and rehearsal starts at 7:45. Hopefully the whole cast gets here on time today, the past week the traffic in New York has been horrible.

A few minutes later my friends Tommy Kail and Alex Lacamoire come in and we talk about the show. Shortly after, the rest of the casts arrives. Wasting no time at all, we get started. The main point today is getting the new choreography for Helpless down. Since moving to the Richard Rogers, we now have a slightly different stage.

After 3 hours of rehearsal (with little breaks) we decide to chill out in the Schuyler Sisters' dressing room for a half an hour before getting back to work.
"Are you sure it's big enough for all of us to fit?" I ask Renee skeptically.
"It should be fine," she responds, "if anything else a couple people can share seats."
Everyone claims stakes on the miscellaneous chairs, beanbags, and the couch. After the others get settled, it is Anthony and I who are still standing.
"Anthony, you can sit with me if you want," says Jasmine. He thankfully plops down next to her on the beanbag.
I sit down on the floor when Pippa frowns.
"Lin, do you want to sit here? I can sit on the floor instead."
She is so kind, "that's ok Pips, thanks though."
Still not letting up, "I insist. Come sit here"
"Fine," I reply, "but you're sharing with me"

After the much needed break, we get back to work. Rehearsal goes smoothly and everyone is tired after a long day. We split up and head home to get some rest, but right back at it tomorrow.

I head out the door with my cast members and then we break off to get to the train, our cars, or just to walk home.

When I get home, Vanessa isn't there which is odd because Sebastian was there alone. Worried, I call her.
"Hey, where are you?"
"Oh.. uh, just getting some work done at the office. I will be home really late.l
"Ok, but you left Sebby here alone, I was just worried."
"Ugh jeez Lin. No need for the naggy tone.
"What-" she cuts me off angrily.
"Never mind." And hangs up.

Woah I think, what is up with her? At least Sebastian is safe. He was napping anyway. I make his dinner and watch Chuggington with him for a decent amount of time.

"Alright Seb, mommy's not gonna be here tonight so it's just you and me. Goodnight, I love you."

After I put him to sleep, I text the cast about any Ham4Ham ideas for the coming Wednesday. Then I turn out the light and ponder Vanessa's behavior as I drift to sleep.

Just to let you know, I have written the first few chapters already so I will update all those now... but then updates will probably be sporadic so no promises.
