Chapter 5

I walk out the door of the hotel, rolling my suitcase. I hail a taxi and go to what I hope is the farthest coffee place where Steve cannot follow me. I don't see why he would anyway.
Once I go into the cute place, I feel eyes staring at me. Then again, I would be staring too. How often do you see a person ready to fly across the country for a month, suitcase, bags, and all, walk into a coffee shop and plop down like nothing's wrong or weird about the situation?! Ha. Practically never.
The first thing I do is text Renee and jazz.  I know the time is all different and it's early morning there, I just hope they're awake.
Pippa: heyyy guys. I gotta talk to you, can we FaceTime?
Renee: sure girl. I can, you start the call.
(I'm on my mac laptop so I can have multiple calls at the same time)
Jasmine: yes! I can. Haven't talked in ages!! Excited to here your voice pips
Renee: same here!
Jasmine: you gotta tell us all about the honeymoon and Steven and... ya know 😉😉
Pippa: aghhh jasmine. 🤢 😔
I feel tears forming at that but luckily I'm in a corner and attention had been turned to other things
Pippa: that's what I gotta talk to you about
Pippa: hold up. Starting the FaceTime and putting earbuds in

"HEY GIRLS!!" I whisper yell as the footage starts rolling (<-- whatttt lel)
"PIPPA!!" They both yell
"Oh my lord. You have to tell me all about London!! How is the hotel? What did you see?? I can't believe Steven was kind enough to take you to LONDON!! He is so perfect, you found the best guy ever." Jasmine squeals as I look down tryna think of something to say.
I look down and Renee scolds jasmine cuz she sees my reaction.
"What about Anthony though, jazz?" I quickly change the subject and we all laugh.
"Okay." Renee starts "I know you wanted to talk to us about something important about Steven. Lay it on us girl"
I take a deep breath and close my eyes. I know I can trust them.
"Well first of all, we're done."
Jasmine and Renee gasp and I laugh
"It's ok I'll fill you in. So he was really protective over me when we saw Lin--"
"YOU SAW LIN?!?!?!?!?!?!?"
"How is he?"
"Was it weird?"
"What a coincidence!"
"What did you talk about?"
"How is Mary poppins going?"
"Haha girls slow down. Idk, we didn't really get to talk that much. Like I said, Steven was being super over protective when we saw Lin and so after that I talked to Him about his reaction, it was all good. But then I saw a text from this random person named Courtney I think and basically asking when to meet up and probably.. yeah. so that's that. But anyway I'm pretty sure Lin is good and sebby is cute as ever. So now I'm stranded here in London. no plane ticket back, I have yet to find another hotel, and so yeah." I sorta trail off not knowing what to say next.
"Oh pip" Renee trails off, giving me a sad and maybe even disappointed look. She's such a mom.
"Ya know who you could hit up for help" jasmine says with an idea lulling over in her mind. It takes some time until Renee and I figure out what she is really saying. Renee nods.
"Well... I feel like that is really weird. After he left for London and I for California, we didn't really keep in touch as much so how would it be for me to just go up to him and ask him for money or, even worse, stay with him?? That's stupid. And rude. And weird. And I don't really know, but overall socially unacceptable," I say. Now I am leaning forward in my chair and pointing at the camera like they are really there. Jasmine and Renee start laughing.
"Wellllll.." jasmine starts
"Ha yeah" Renee responds
"What is it girls??" I know there is something they are hiding from me.
"Should I?"
"It's time." There Renee is, again, being a mom and making the decision. About what I don't know tho.
"Well, Phillipa soo," Jasmine looks so proud right now, "Lin has had his eyes on someone ever since Vanessa and... ITS YOU!!"
"Jazzy why did you make it rhyme?" Renee asks before bursting out in laughter. Not a moment later, Jasmine does the same. I can't don't anything but sit there in awe just watching them. I feel good, great even because there has always been something between Lin and I. Maybe it will grow into something more. At the same time I'm a little annoyed that I didn't realize and that jazzy and Renee are just laughing their heads off.
"Girls, why didn't you tell me??"
"Because he told us not to Pippa!! Basically the whole cast knows!!! Why do you think he beams during helpless or the guys punch him when he talks to you?? TBH it's the most adorable thing ever." Jasmine concludes.
"How do you feel?" Renee asks after seeing my mixed face.
"About Lin? Fantastic," I say as I begin to blush a little. "About you guys, annoyed." I give both of them the stink eye. "How come you didn't tell me?! I thought we were best friends!!" I am now feeling betrayed inside even though I know I shouldn't.
"Pip because he asked us not to. He didn't want to ruin your relationship with Steven or make it awkward. And he definitely didn't think the feeling was mutual, however after our little talk here I think it is!" Renee says. I could have done without the last part.
"So are you going to ask him to stay for a bit or what? Pippa you have to do something whether you like it or not."
"I know I know" I reply wistfully.
"Text him right now" Renee said, "come on,  we will be there to support you. And see Lippa come true."
"Wth is a Lippa?????"
"Ur guys' ship name." Jasmine replies bluntly.
"You guys made a ship name for us?? WHAT ARE YOU, TWELVE?!"
We all start laughing at that.
"Go on, do it. You got it" they say encouragingly.
"Are you sure?"
"YES"
"Okay okay!" I glance up. "I'm gonna FaceTime him instead." I bring up the app on my laptop, find his contact and press call. As it rings my palms start getting hotter and sweaty. He picks up. All that runs through my mind is "it's showtime"
"Hey Pips what's up?"
"Hey Lin... how are you??"
"Good, good, you?"
"Well.."
"Is everything okay?"
"Not really.. ummmmm so long story short Steven is cheating and I don't have money or any place to stay and I was wondering if I could hit you up. I mean.. like.. for a place to stay for a week or so until I can get back on my feet."
"Of course! of course you can stay with me and seb."
Renee and jasmine squeal.
"Oh hey jazz hey Renee. I didn't realize you were in this call too!"
"Hey Lin" they say in perfect unison. Then jasmine winks and he blushes and looks down, smol bean. Maybe he does actually like me.  (Idrk know how FaceTime like this works sorry! But imma just roll w/ it)
"Anyway. Pips are you in the cafe on leather?" (A random street..)
"Uh yeah, how did you know??"
"Ik my way around town," he says with a wink. "I'll be there in 10 minutes cinnamon roll." He makes a kissing noise and hangs up. After that I fall back into my seat and blush profusely.

The girls and I catch up a little for those few minutes while I was waiting for Lin. The bell on the door rigs and I look up. He walks in and my heart goes boom.
