Chapter 9

Pippa's POV
Even though it had really only been a day, Lin and I have been more open about our affection towards each other. We walked to the park holding hands and I would lean on him from time to time at the stop lights.
I guess I'm glad that Sebby knows about his father and I. That way we aren't keeping anything from him. Plus it helps that he feels comfortable with me... maybe since he has come to shows and knows me more than some of the other cast members.
We get to the park and Sebby immediately runs for the jungle gym.
"Sebastian, be careful. You know the rules, stay in my eyesight, don't talk to strangers, and be kind to others. That includes sharing, Sebastian."
"Yeah yeah okay dad. Cya later!!!"
Lin grunts and says: "ah children. Sometimes they are delightful.. when they are listening to you that is."
"Aw, I think it's cute. You are such a father when it comes to Sebastian."
"Do you want to sit down? There's a bench over there," he says as he points near the swings.
"Sure. I'm getting a call from jasmine, one second."
I press call once we sit down and put the phone up to my ear only to be met by a screaming jasmine and dying ear drum.
"YOU'RE STAYING WITH LIN I'M SO EXCITED FOR BOTH OF YOU!!"
"Gosh Jasmine, my eardrum is dead," i exclaim, smiling and rolling my eyes at the same time.
"Sorry haha. I just saw your Instagram post! Is his apartment nice? Where are you sleeping?" Jasmine asks, eager for answers.
"Yeah, its spacious and really open and welcoming.l and cozy. I sleep in the guest room right now, but I share a bathroom with Lin."
"Cool, cool... so what are you doing?"
"Lin, Sebastian and I are currently at the park. It's a beautiful day, I wish you could be here right now," I say. As I think, I find myself more and more homesick. I haven't seen Jasmine or Renee, who are practically my sisters, in 3 months and I miss them terribly. Feeling lonelier by the second, I scoot closer to Lin and rest my head on his shoulder. He puts his arm around mine and kisses my temple which eases the pain and makes me feel warm.
"Yeah, Pippa, I wish I was there too..." Jasmine says wistfully.

Lin's POV
Just sitting there in the park with my thoughts (and Pippa) is so relaxing. The sun is shining, the sky is clear, and everything is good. Pippa just got a call from Jasmine which is really nice because they are super close. I can tell that Pippa is homesick so I think of ways to make her feel better. Maybe I could bake a cake?? Nahh that's lame.. I know the only way for her to be not homesick is to simply go home. To see her friends. I guess I could try to arrange that??? It's not like they don't have the money. I decide to make a chat and ask them even though it is such a long shot... and it also depends on when Pippa leaves again.

(This includes the whole cast minus Pippa but not everyone is on cuz of the time difference)
Lin: Hey guys, are you doing anything that you can't miss within the coming week??
Anthony: I don't think so... we finished filming a couple days ago for my Netflix show. Jasmine has a gig in 10 days though.
Lin: ok
Renee: no I don't think so. Altered Carbon rehearsals and all that jazz start next month so I'm all clear. Why do you ask?
Renee: and why isn't Pippa in the chat?????
Lin: well she was feeling super homesick so i was wondering if one or two of you guys could fly out to London and surprise her
Lin: I know it is such a long shot but nothing else would make her feel better and I hate seeing her sad..
Oak: BUT SHE HAS YOU, MAN!!
Oak: I can't I'm on a road trip with my friends rn I'm so sorry!! Tell her I miss her for meeeee!
Lin: will do
Anthony: jasmine and I could probs fly out for a couple days.... I will have to check with her cuz she's on the phone right now
Lin: with pips
Anthony: oh cool
Lin: ok I think that's good. Thanks guys!!! I just wanted to do something nice so this will be good.
Renee: no problem, I miss you guys So much, it will be nice to meet up
Anthony: sameeee
Lin: alrighty, gotta run. I'm actually gonna ask jasmine if she could teach me how to talk in an English accent lol
Anthony: haha she would love that. Somebody finally cares lol

I feel so good that I have a plan to make my crush feel better and it's in the coming days!! I'm still not sure exactly when Jasmine, Anthony, and Renee will come but at least the ground work has been laid down.
"Hey pips?" I ask, hoping to ask jasmine for advice on accents.
"One second jasmine," I hear her say, "yeah Lin?"
"Could I possibly arrange a time with jasmine to call her and learn how to talk correctly with an accent?" She laughs out loud.
"Sure, Jasmine, are you there? --- Lin wants to talk to you. --- Why does it matter what it's about? --- Hah, he wants advice on a British accent."
Then Jasmine yells loud that I can actually hear her. Pippa almost drops her phone. (She said "Yes! I can't believe someone finally cares and shares my love for accents!!"
"Jasmine Cephas Jones. You need to stop yelling --- it's fine. I'm going to put Lin on the phone now okay?"
"Sorry that took so long," Pippa whispers in my ear as she hands me the phone.

"Hey jasmine"
"Hey Lin!!!! How have you been?!"
"Great! What about you?? How are you and ant?! I miss the whole cast so freaking much."
"Yeah yeah.. I'm good btw. Anthony told me about the surprise. I'm totally down!! We are doing well. Hah. How are you and my bff?"
"Well.. it's complicated... we are good though... at least I think haha. So, about accents. Idk how to speak in an English accent so I was wondering if you could teach me?? Preferably for free???
"Haha well it would have been for free if you didn't bring up the price but then YOU DID. Don't worry, I won't charge you money.. or Pounds for that matter. You have to do me a favor at some point in time, but you have to say yes."
"Uhhhhhh okay???"
"YAY! --"
"Yeah jasmine. We need to hold an intervention on your screaming, really."
"Hah okay okay. I will work on it. I'm using my favor now. You have to ask Pippa out and you can't mention me or a favor or dare or anything."
"But--" I can't believe it's coming to this.
"And I know you love her so you might as well do it anyway."
"Fine. Okay. You got what you wanted."
"Yay! So when speaking in an English accent, you want to make the 'ah' sounds more 'oh' sounds, rounder sounds. like w-oh-tee opposed to w-ah-ter. And don't pronounce the r's at the end of a word so water would sound like w-oh-tah, ya know?" In the background I can hear Anthony saying 'oh no it's starting'. Janthony=realllz
"Okay cool? But can we arrange a time like.. later? Cuz I'm with Pippa right now and--"
"Sure I understand. Hehehehehehehehee."
"No. Don't go there."
"Hah okay. Can I talk to Pippa again?"
"Sure."
After I hand the phone to Phillipa, my thoughts stray to later tonight when I plan on asking her. I know that I was going to eventually.. I guess I just needed that extra nudge. (Thanks jazzy..)
