A couple weeks passed and I got closer to the band, especially Cole. Finally the day where Maya was going to leave for Ohio rolled around. Since her parents wanted her to see the United States she was going to be driving and she was not too happy about that at all. She wanted me to meet her at her house that morning so that I could help her do some last minute packing and spend a lot of time with her before our two weeks away from each other. I rolled out of bed and fell onto my fluffy carpet. I quickly got dressed because the faster I got to Maya's house the longer I would have with her. I changed into shorts and then checked the weather. It said that it would be chilly so I grabbed my phone and ran into my basement where I had left my cardigan.
I ran down into my basement. I couldn't see my sweater so I put my phone down on a speaker and began to look for it. I finally found it under the blanket on the couch. I threw it on a went back upstairs. I grabbed some bread from the kitchen and began to munch on it. It was going on eight. We had decided that that was the time we would meet at her house. I filled my purse with my wallet and random stuff like I always do and go into my car. I drove the two minute drive to her house and parked my car in her driveway. Most of the lights in her house were on which was the opposite of my house. I knocked on the door and Maya answered almost right away. She looked tired in sweatpants and a tank top.
"Hey!" She said pulling me into her house. I stumbled over the mess of shoes at her door. I barely had time to take off my shoes before she was pulling me into her room. I stood in the doorway and stared because it was the messiest I had ever seen her room.
"Oh my god. What happened in here?" I asked not really sure if I wanted to know the answer.
"Well, I was doing some last minute packing then I couldn't find my hair straightener and then I turned my room inside out looking for it and I found it in my suitcase." She said flopping onto her bed. "I am so not excited to go to Ohio. I have nothing against Ohio but my cousins are crazy and annoying and wake up at six in the morning on a regular basis!"
"I'm sure it's not going to be that bad. I'll text you everyday and I'll message you on Facebook. Some days we can even Skype you will not miss me because you will be having too much fun in Ohio." I said trying to cheer her up. She just rolled her eyes and I shoved as a friend closer to the edge of the bed. She laughed and saved herself from falling off. I hopped onto the bed nest to her and lay down staring at her ceiling.
"What day do you come back?" I asked starting to finally realize she would be gone for the rest of the summer.
"I'm coming back on the day we're supposed to go pick up our schedule. So I have a couple days to settle in back home before I go back to school and I can still get my schedule. You'll be fine you have Savannah and Dalton to keep you company I'll be alone with my crazy family."
"Yeah but did you hear? Savannah was grounded for a week for sneaking out a couple nights ago."
"Wow that sucks for her. She never should have snuck out to that party it wasn't even that fun." I smiled at her.
"I know. There was nothing to do but stand around." I got up and checked her suitcase which was only half packed. "You need to finish packing this, you're leaving today!" I said as she got off the bed.
"Wait I just realized I don't have Savannah's phone number because my phone deleted a bunch of my contacts."
"Okay here let me get it form my phone." I reached into my purse to get my phone and couldn't find it. "I think I left it in my car I'll be right back." I said as Maya began to pack a couple more things in her suitcase. I ran down to my car and couldn't find my phone there either. It was then that I remembered I had left it on the speaker in my basement. I walked back into her house and into her room where she was making some progress packing her suitcase.
"I left it at my house I can go get it later." I said helping her pack. We spent most of the time packing her suitcase but then we finished and talked about weird stuff like we usually did until it was time for her to leave.
"Bye!" I yelled as I waved goodbye to her car that was driving away. I got into my car and started to drive back to my house. I was hoping to have time to take a shower before Dalton came over because Maya had sprayed with a ton of perfume. I walked into the house and dropped my purse at the door. I kicked off my flip flops and started into the basement to get my phone. I got to the bottom of the stairs and realized that my sister was kissing someone. I was about to leave when I saw my phone. I quietly walked over to it and grabbed it. I headed back to the stairs when I saw familiar blonde hair.
"Oh my god! Dalton?!?!" I screamed. "How could you do this to me?" I could feel the stars starting to well up in my eyes. He looked shocked to see me here and guilty and my sister just looked at the wall. He was about to start talking but I cut him off.
"We are so over! She's my sister! I thought you were better!" I yelled as I ran up the stairs. I could hear him running after me but I didn't stop. I grabbed my purse from the doorway and my shoes. I didn't even put them on, I just ran to my car barefoot. I got in my car and started to drive away sobbing, in the corner of my eye I could see him on my front step but I kept going.
