About a week later I woke up and just lay in the warmth of my blankets. Almost every day I lay in my bed for about an hour because I had nothing better to do. I haven't left the house since leaving Cole's house a week before. It was nice to finally have some time to do a bunch of reading and catch up on my favourite shows. I was still lying in bed when my relaxation was interrupted by the doorbell ringing. I groaned and didn't get out of bed at first. Then the doorbell rang again and again. I groaned again and walked slowly down the stairs.
"I'm coming!" I yelled as the doorbell rang again. I opened the door and in walked Maya followed by Cole and Dana. "Hey guys." I said, I hadn't seen Cole since that day and I hadn't seen Dana in forever.
"We need to talk." Said Maya walking into my kitchen. I figured she was getting something to eat, so when she sat down on at my table without any food I knew it was serious.
"What's up you guys?" I asked sitting on the table.
"Well, the thing is we as your friends are worried about you." Said Maya the only one who was talking Cole and Dana were just staring at the ground.
"Why?"
"You haven't left your house in about a week! That is not normal!" She almost yelled at me. Cole shot her a look as if to tell her to calm down.
"So? Since when have I been normal?"
"Morgan this isn't about that and you know it. You're miserable and so is he." I flinched when Cole said he. I knew he meant Dalton but I was still moping. I had a right as an emotional teenage girl.
"Well, I haven't forgiven him yet and I don't know when or if I can he kissed my sister and that is not cool."
"Morgan! You have to forgive him. He's been miserable without you. He only leaves the house when we have rehearsal and he is not into the music like he used to be. You are not any better staying in this house! You need to go out!" Said Cole looking at me like he was truly worried for the both of us.
"I'll go out but I am not going to talk to him. I'm not ready to forgive him yet."
"Good no go get dressed while we get some food I'm starving!" Said Maya walking over to the fridge. Things were some what back to normal.
"I'll be right back." I said running up my stairs to pick out my outfit. I threw on a comfortable black and white polka dot dress and my big floppy sun hat. I fixed my hair and came back down the stairs to see them eating my ice cream. I looked at them then grabbed a spoon and joined them. "Let's go get some ice cream!" I yelled starting to get excited.
"Yes, I love that idea!" Yelled Dana who gave me a high five.
"Let's go!" I yelled putting the cover back on the ice cream container.
"Hey! I was eating that!" Said Cole sounding offended.
"We're going to get ice cream so you can order your own!" I said putting it back in the freezer. "Let's go." I said and we all walked to my entrance. I slipped on my navy blue Keds and walked out the door and out into the hot summer sun. It felt good to be keeping warm while still looking nice instead of being in my frumpy pajamas. I was about to get in my car when Cole stopped me.
"You've locked up in your house for a week now no way are you going to drive to an ice cream place. It's about a fifteen minute walk."
"Fine, but when your legs get tired don't come complaining to me." I said jogging to catch up to Dana and Maya who were already halfway down my street.
"I'm so hungry! Why don't we all split a King Kong?" Asked Cole catching up to us. A King Kong is ice cream that comes in a plastic hat. It has twenty five scoops of whatever flavours you want.
"Yes! I am so down for a King Kong!" Yelled Maya causing us to receive some strange looks from people walking by us.
"Let's go!" Said Dana who began to run down the street. Maya and Cole began to run right after him. I stayed behind for two reasons one I wanted some peace and quiet to myself and two I hate running. I watched them run down the street and out of sight not one of them realizing that I wasn't right behind them. They would realize it when they got to the ice cream parlour but I would still be walking on my way to meet them. I was zoned out just thinking to myself when I was startled by someone saying my name. It was a boy I hadn't seen in awhile.
